I am a Rwandan Public Health Professional. I am so much interested in coming up with my contribution by designing and thinking about Public health interventions that can successfully face and deal with maternal and child health issues in my country (Rwanda).
I am a Public Health Professional. But, my interest is so much oriented in contributing to overcome (fight against) maternal and child health health issues.
According to the Mini-DHS 2007-2008, the under 18 years old pregnancy rate is 4,5%. Because of high rate, I would like to come up with a public health intervention to reduce this increasing rate at least up to 3% and thus contributing to the decrease of the maternal death and under 5 mortality rate in general that is also higher in Rwanda. (103 deaths/1000 alive births according to the Mini DHS 2007-2008)
I have a Master's degree in Health Care Management. And I am currently working as the Research and Monitoring & Evaluation Manager in Rwanda in Public Health sector. I also teach in nursing high institute here in Rwanda, the following courses : Initiation to research, Epidemiology and Bio-statistics. I am also teaching the course of " Initiation to Public Health" in Kibungo Agriculture and Technology and Education (UNATEK).
