I am the Founder THE SLUMCODE GROUP. Since 2006, I have created, implemented and sustained new concepts that enhance community participation in empowerment and employment creation. THE GRAND SLUMFEST now in its fifth year is one such idea. Today a Youth Friendly Resource Centre with book mobilized from across the World is active because of a campaign concept I designed dubbed - from burning to learning a bullet to books story changing the World. My creative and innovative nature has seen many organization and partners bring many projects to the grassroots for I believed dreams are possible.
Campaign against individual suffering due to poverty.I believe in creating a platform where many can get empowered and employed to realize a meaningful livelihood.
I want to see a world with accessible health, educational and recreational facilities for everyone. I want people everywhere to access information, get skills for sustenance and make sound judgment on how to better their lives. All cannot be rich, but all can live happily Poverty must be history.
Since 1994 when I was employed as a government officer, I needed to serve. My passion for serving humanity has seen me talk out, meet and engage with personalities who impact and inspire change. I created partnerships that provided books for schools, generate casual jobs for youth and create a platform for easy networking, selling and earning. I was awarded a fully paid for scholarship at Strathmore University because of my service in Leadership and Management. Slumcode has brought the largest ever showcase and exhibition activity in any Slums. I was included in part of the Kenyan delegation to Sweden for the REWORK THE WORLD Summit in 2010 and currently formulating an empowerment network under the Kenya Youth Employment and Empowerment Initiative in Nairobi. My focus on a vision and goal has seen us partner with The Positive World to ship over 5,000 reference books to furnish the first ever community library in a slum equipped for research, online studies and normal reader sessions. We have mentored children from poor community school in an area prone to crime, alcohol, drugs and prostitution.
