I have sacrificed/suspended my personal ambitions to create a platform for young African Women living in North-America to achieve their social/community and personal goals by solely producing and funding the Northwest African Queen Pageant.
As an administrative assistant, there's only much you can earn but I have given it all up, in hope to eventually reach a community in need anywhere in the world using the NAQ Pageant contestants.
Any place with young people
For young people to be more involved in their community affairs and development, especially for some of us that have had the opportunity to travel abroad.
I produce The Northwest African Queen Pageant. All contestants write a social micro project/platform and with enough funding/sponsorship,the goal is to fund the project of the winner and help the rest exploit other ways to implement theirs. Examples last year were, Eradicating female circumcision in Africa, Malaria control in Kenya, Importance of Family in Zambia etc,
African women living in North-America are privileged to experience diversity of both worlds. Whereas the experience could be a tool to do exploits, it is also a hindrance in establishing their belonging and could potentially be a barrier to exploit their personal potentials as tomorrow’s leaders, entrepreneurs and peace keepers.
With all the conflict, the instability, the poverty, and the corruption on our continent, we need women of virtue and courage to give Africa, our northwest community and the whole worldwide a rebirth.
