I am working in the area of new materials, design and techniques for recycling. My passion lies with tools and materials for sustainability in the textile world, particularly the recycling, reuse of polyesters and agricultural waste. My passion also lies for handcrafted, authentic textile craft products and sustainable development.
I explore techniques and technologies that could potentially change the way we recycle agricultural waste, placing the designer at the centre of a process of multidisciplinary design thinking and enterprise. By focusing on the concept of 'life-cycle design', I seek to create new environmentally friendly technology, techniques and materials for turning agricultural wastes/residues into quality value-added products, creating beautiful and functional materials by upcycling these wastes into productive use that can benefit the surrounding community.
