Franck RIBOUD, 52, was educated at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, Switzerland.
He entered the Groupe in 1980, and worked in Management control, Marketing and then Sales until 1989. Having been the Director of Sales of Heudebert, he was nominated Director of Integration and Development of New Societies in the Biscuits business line in September 1989, and participated in the greatest acquisition ever carried out by a French company in the United States: the acquisition of Nabisco European activities by BSN. In July 1990 he was nominated Managing Director of Evian Mineral Waters.
In 1992, Mr. RIBOUD was appointed head of Business Development for the Group, which set out to establish an international presence by accelerating growth in Asia and Latin America and setting up an export division.
In 1994, BSN became Groupe DANONE, its new name incorporating a world brand. Franck RIBOUD was named Executive Vice-President in August that year.
On May 2nd, 1996, Franck RIBOUD was nominated Chairman and CEO of Groupe DANONE, a position that he still holds today.
Franck RIBOUD is a Board Member of Renault, Lacoste and ONA. Moreover, he is member of Supervisory Board of Accor.
In March 2006, Franck RIBOUD joins the Board of Directors of GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition). GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation whose vision is for all people, everywhere, to have the vitamins and minerals they need to live healthy and productive lives.
Since 2007, Franck RIBOUD is Chairman of Danone Communities, a fund focusing its investments on business projects with a significant social impact, designed to generate a form of profitability but whose main priority was to maximise benefits to society as a whole.
