METSA @ R. L. Turner High School | Dean | Carrollton TX
Everyone knows that the future is inherently unpredictable. As a changemaker, I have continuously developed my skills to be confident in leading the change in the organizations I serve. In addition, I know that I have the duty to teach others the skills I've learned and use to be a change savvy. I have embedded moral purpose to our change initiatives--commitment to bring humankind to a higher level of accomplishment.
Anywhere I can connect with youth in our community.
Transforming our schools into 21st Century Learning Environment
As the Dean of Instruction for the past five years, using research-based STEM & 21st century skills practices, I have created a school model to support wall-to-wall project-based learning with a school culture that empowers students in taking ownership of their own learning while preparing for college, career and life. For the past 14 years, I have Mentored teachers on instructional strategies and classroom management using PBL methodology. I've also coordinated the internship and the student advisory programs on campus, developed and taught several dual credit classes and conducted technology professional development within the district on a regular basis.
