My wife and I founded MAP Real Estate, Inc., a boutique commercial tenant-rep firm, in 1986. In 1995, we began an experiment called Investing In Communities® (IIC®) to discover if we could generate business by giving to charity part of every commission we earned.
By late 2010, we had transformed IIC to benefit the world and launched it as a web-based independent social enterprise incorporated as an IL 501(c)(4) - a free capacity-building tool for 501(c)(3)s and their NGO counterparts, everywhere. IIC provides internet visibility and access to a new source of funding, which is always unrestricted and without development expense. At no cost, organizations working in focus areas including Women & Families, Arts & Culture, Health & Wellness, Education, Environment, and Social Justice, may apply to become an IIC Partner.
IIC can now operate in Canada, Mexico, and the US, currently with participating nonprofits/NGOs in the US and Mexico.
