I love Maharashtra - especially Chandrapur, my chosen home. I have learned so much here. It is a warm and welcoming place. Chandrapur has a rich history of Gond tribal kings - it has a beautiful fort and temples. Chandrapur played an important role in the fight against British colonial rule. In 1857 Veer Baburao Shedmake fought seven battles against British. Later freedom fighters participated strongly in the 1942 Quit India movement. Chandrapur was blessed by social reformers who advocated education and social justice. People have a connectedness with their history which serves to inspire the struggle for a better future.
I want to see true democracy based on social justice and equality.
