Bihar is the most laggard state on most human development indicators in India. Bihar contributes to maximum within country migration in India which has resulting in discrimination and hatred against people of Bihar in other state. We have been working on creating and improving livelihood opportunities for the poors in Bihar so that they need not migrate and their earning increase due to our interventions with local resources. We are working with communities like farmers, weavers , women bamboo processors and providing them services like institution building, credit and bank linkages , market linkages for their products as well as technical advisory services in these sectors. These sector has potential to improve the economic condition of one million families. We hope that once the economic conditions of families improves, their ability to afford basic necessities like better health, education, food which will set up a virtuous cycle of wealth creation and in effect pull the families out of cycle of poverty.
I feel very connected to my state Bihar. As a student, I have studied outside bihar for under graduate and post graduate courses, which made me feel longing for my home in Bihar. My native place is Daudnagar where I spent summer vacations in rustic idleness while Bhagalpur is where I started the development work.
With the experience of insidious remarks about being resident of most poor state of India despite its people working hardest all across India from being labour for construction sites , farms as well as being policy makers. I hope to make Bihar the most developed state economically in India in my life time. For this, I dream of creating a 20 billion dollar group in Bihar which provide direct and indirect livelihood opportunities of one million families and contributes to state resources. There can be 100 of organisations within the group owned by people of Bihar.
