Eng. Wainaina is the founder of BungeSMS and the Made in Kenya Network. He is also a celebrated ICT Manager with a radio and television station in Kenya. In the past year, he has overseen the transformation of ICT systems at Royal Media Services Ltd - Citizen TV and it's 14 radio stations. During Eng. Wainaina's tenure, Royal Media became a member of AfriNIC and the Computer Society of Kenya, while participating in the IGF 2011.
RMS has set-up multihoming and BGP set-ups, stabilized services to correspondents, regional offices, acquired an industry level Server Room, Disaster Recovery systems, quality networking, equipped and trained news staff, adopted industry's best NLE systems (Final Cut Pro), revamped its websites and mobile applications while strengthening partnerships with industry. Wainaina initiated the audio streaming for FM stations such as Radio Citizen, Inooro, Ramogi, Egesa and Hot96. He also set-up the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), a Document Management System (for Sales Order processing) and Disaster Recovery. Eng. Wainaina in known for the public debate with the CCK as he participated in the technical application for a digital broadcasting licence through the National Signal Networks.
