Wendy Wendlandt believes in using the power of money to make a difference. She is the President at Green Century Capital Management, the nation's only family of socially responsible mutual funds founded and owned by non-profit environmental organizations. They invest money to work for cleaner air, cleaner water and a healthier planet.
Wendy was green before it was cool to be green; she has worked in the environmental movement since 1983 when she graduated from college with a degree in political science. With over two decades of professional experience at the non-profit, non-partisan Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) organizations, Wendy has worked on campaigns ranging from toxic and nuclear waste cleanup to genetically engineered food. She has also been actively involved in efforts to improve the nation’s democracy through work on campaign finance reform and voter registration. During the 2004 election cycle, Wendy helped launch projects that registered more than 600,000 young and urban, minority voters. Wendy also serves on the boards of Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing.
