Will Song is the founder and the executive director of World Student Hub. As a student, Will recognized the power of blogging and social media, seeing not only how a simple blog post could spread a message around the world, but also how some people could even make full-time livings through blogging alone. He dreamt of a way to turn income-earning blogging platform into a force for social change. However, most times a person’s blog inhabited a tiny corner of their own making, each blog covering many separate topics, pursuing many separate goals. And Will wondered if there might not be a way to bring a larger community of student bloggers together on one platform, with one underlying goal—to contribute to the greater good.
Not finding any existing service that met his high standards, he decided to create one himself. Now Will is sharing this opportunity with other students, equipping them to go out and make a lasting difference for the causes they care about. His vision for World Student Hub is to see an ongoing dialogue, not only with bloggers and their direct audiences, but between the various bloggers themselves who share common passions and purposes.
Will is excited to see countless students join a unified effort to share issues that matter and raise awareness for nonprofits. His goal is to see students cast aside the belief of, “I’m just one person. What could I do?” and embrace the truth that they are capable of making a major impact on their communities, both locally and online.
