Hello Cyrus,
It would be great if you could expand the responses in your entry and include more details about the work you're doing, the impact it is having, how it is innovation and how it is sustainable.
Thank you. Dana Frasz
Changemakers
I am thankful to God for given me this opportunity and strenth to have come this far with this service.
When I though of establishing this program people fell it was a joke. Working with refugees in camps with in Sierra Leone for some years as a voluntary coach train by Right To Play program implementingsport and play, I saw that there is a need to establish or form a group to implement health and sanitation when people shall have return to their various places. For my country Liberia has suffer alot and lost more facilities such as sanitation. As a teacher dealing with children of different communities seeing them in difficult conditions in term of health and sanitation, I share tears. For children and women are the most vulnorable in African communities in term of health an sanitation.
God is now ready to realy support this initiative by me having access with foreign partners and friends which, I believe that through cooperation we can make a good difference in implementing sanitation.
I now extend my heartfelt thank and appreciation to changemakers for extending this life changing opportunity to us in Africa.
Teacher Cyrus: Do you have current/ongoing contacts with the people still displaced by the recent conflicts in Liberia & Sierra Leone? And, if so, how about the authorities that run those camps??
If so, I would like to set up a communications linkage with you, as we may be able to jointly be of great service to that group, in relieving at least some of their basic needs, from the support of others.
I'll be in Ghana in early June, and plan to have meetings with some key strategic alliance people in several W. Africa countries North of there, when the WHO conference is concluded. If interested, we could plan to meet in person and review your situation. I must focus on the designated priority problem areas of E. Africa first, per the wishes of the NPO that's doing the project I'll be working with. But if we can make a strong case, your group could be added, as there will definitely be similar subsequent services provided to other critical areas of need. You can give me your answer & contact coordinates in your response, to make it easier.
I neglected to mention: Former Peace Corps Volunteers, many of whom retain strong interests in and engage in various efforts in behalf of their "Host Countries", could also be of further help.
They are always interested in knowing more clearly about precise needs, and potential for resolving them.
Many were teachers, and health workers. IF, as a Teacher, you may happen to know/remember any of them fairly well (but no longer have their contact information), provide their names & whatever else (home state, field of work, etc.) you may have, and I can get it relayed to them. I'm a member of their national association, and have access to contact info for all who are registered.
