Jose Paulo and Willy Pessoa are including the information bellow regarding to the innovation aspect of the project:
"Trough Information for knowledge organization, the idea contributes for the transformation of results in fighting desertification, poverty, hunger and misery, attending to the UN’s Millennium Goals in a geographic way by a cell of rural familiar production generating around 6 jobs per family and making possible food providing to 10 urban familiar units, feeding 40 people in town in the best way of building Fair Trade. In an area of 50mtsx50mts it is possible to structure the formation of this rural production cell, generating up to a US$ 700 income per month by the selling of extras. The productive cellular area of the process follows the same ordered characteristics of our Solar System. In the center there is a reservoir (the Sun) containing water necessary for raising fish and ducks that enriches water with their disposals. The enriched water is distributed through one central pyramidal vortex in 6 60o lines moved by a small water pump that uses conventional low consumption energy or alternative energy. It supplies 9 circles of crops divided in deltas where low cost hoses conduct this water until many vegetables and reforestation fruit seedling, fed by scattered “cotton buds”.Small animals integrate the food consumption of the entire system, which attends to the nutritional needs from 2000 to 3000 Kcal of the family and the selling of the exceeding production contributes for local market stabilization"

Most of the questions you raised are answered in my recent submission. (please let me know if this is not the case). The basic idea is to make water harvesting ponds productive in Ethiopia. The benefits include increased income, better sanitation, better nutrition and risk reduction in crop production in the rural communities of Ethiopia.
