The Sima CBOs project sounds like a crucial one where there is such great need in Kenya for this.
My comment is regarding communities' ability to fund this sort of work. When communities buy into the idea that sanitation is needed and beneficial to them individually, how do they leverage their own funds to support building of latrines/sanitation? Are any materials provided to them for building? What means have participating communities used to leverage funds?
Dear Cstellini,
Thank you for your important questions.
a, By support from well-wishers, community donation, fundraisings and membership fee.
b, Yes, only that lack of funds hinder the progress. Materials are available.
c, Initiating income generating activities e.g. poultry keeping, farming & horticultral and organizing events for donations.
We are looking forward for your support.
