I think what you are asking is "Is this thing global" or only good for the USA?
There are absolutely no limits to who (or where) it can help-charities in other countries are welcome to post videos, so, potentially, everyone around the world could benefit.
The reason(s) I posted that SpaceforGood would help in the US are (1)we are based in Washington, DC, so naturally we plan to start with charities nearby, but in no way do we plan to stop here, and (2) Honestly I couldn't find an option on WeMedia's submission form that said we planned to have a "global" impact- it was a drop-down menu and I only saw individual countries listed. I will check again, thanks.
It's a pleasure to hear that the World is not the US, unless it is All of US...on one planet Earth. (US All)
Funny…? Maybe not, but life outside the US (-All) doesn't fair-well, when i have conversations about diplomacy for an untold number of Americans (Mexican, Canadian, USian) who only get the story which they are positioned/fixed to hear by current media standards.
SpaceforGood is helping as we speak/write, as i am happy to announce to the other members around the planet that we now have a platform, such as yours, regardless of funding.
Your passion has 'won' the hearts & minds of orgs that will sooner than later, join your network of open-minded-media.
We congratulate you on your progress & look forward to more!

PS: The Q was initially geared to hear how/why/when entries are poised to "Influence Our WORLD" & for how long, from the personal perspective. Thanks for thinking "global-impact". Maybe WEMEDIA will put that option on the list now. I'll keep checking too, mate.
Just sent a utube link for my foundation - AngelAID - for inclusion on your site. Good work -- yours is just one of the millions of ideas/programs that could benefit from the Idea I am entering AngelHEROS -- In our platform you could support your foundation via the Blessings concept whereby people who believe in what you are doing could donate thier Blessings for your use. They would earn these Blessings by doing life-enhancing things or making life-enhancing decisions. Their volunteer hours earned elsewhere could be used by your organization to trade for your webspace (just one example). The global membership could be used to express our desire that good news balance the negative impact of other news.
AngelHEROS will be a global mashup via a united platform bridging the virtual world to rebuild communnity.
I think the answer is that we need to help small, grassroots organizations that are dynamic enough to respond quickly to the myriad of needs that are cropping up as a result of the poor economic climate.
I am looking forward to being able to use Space for Good for the non-profits with whom I am involved. To increase visibility and reach new possible beneficiaries and supporters alike is one huge impact that Space for Good will have. Thank you for putting your unique and very worthwhile idea into practice! Jesse
Often, I read stories in the national or international press that require action, and I think that in many cases, local organizations -- most perhaps I've never heard of -- likely have good solutions but need funding or other support. I think SpaceforGood is a great idea for bringing these lesser-known efforts to light and linking me to them.
SpaceforGood has amazing potential to help non profits promote good causes through the power of video. Think this is a terrific concept and look forward to watching it grow.
I met Kristen at the We Media Pitch Challenge in 2009. She has been working on SpaceforGood and has been continued source of inspiration for all social entrepreneurs, including myself. I hope that she gets the credit she deserves and secures the funding from such notable organizations.
This is a great approach for connecting someone with a desire to help, at the moment that desire arises, to the agents of help in a way that makes the process very personal. I can see this to be very effective venue for aid organizations everywhere.
As I watch the the unfolding tragedy in Haiti, my overwhelming response is twin feelings of desire to help, and helplessness to effect that desire. A truth of never-fading awe to me is the human capacity to feel the pain of others and to rise to the occasion and help. This impulse only becomes deadened and cynical when that urge is thwarted by obstacles of practice. We need conduits such as SpaceforGood to connect the people watching the news about crises to the groups working to resolve them in a meaningful way. More people will donate or volunteer when then can actually SEE the organizations at work and have a direct link to respond. Kudos to SpaceforGood and its plans to fill this void. Whether its a mass disaster or the numerous ongoing quiet battles of preservation, perseverance, and priorities, I look forward to SpaceforGood as a tool to let me see and contribute to the remarkable groups working hard for a better world, whether its Internet surfing at my desk on a leisurely day, or donating to a mass disaster on a moments notice from my iPhone.

You're welcome kristen,

Would love to hear more. Email me at info@spaceforgood.org, and please provide a link to your donation site! Are you 501(c)3?
What types of causes will offer the best opportunities for the most dynamic change achieved through the efforts of nonprofit organizations in 2010?
