Please explain why your idea/project, is suited/perfect to using... 'media' ...to bring about A BETTER "WORLD"...the entire planet...?

Aloha (Rilokilee) Holly,

Wonderful to read the passions of awareness during your 19th year orbiting our local star, the Sun. Being new at this, like us, there is a great potential that WEMEDIA will take interest in your project.

As for our initial question of a BETTER WORLD, how do you see Holly Chant engaging other communities around the world; do you see this project as an 'inspiring' templet where at some time down the road, it will encompass larger communities suffering from the same unfortunate realities you find in PNG? As a screenwriter myself, i know the passion it takes to sit down & dig up the deep-seated patience, for a week, two months, or more, to hammer out or 'paint-stakingly' by every delicate brush stroke to realize on paper (monitor now) the vision with which to impact & inspire the minds of any & all nations available to dream, with you (& i).

As you expound upon your project, to inform everyone of the elements we need to know about Holly Chant (as a limited amount of space would not allow), please, do remember the ENTIRE WORLD is in need of a heart determined to bring the world into the present, instead of living & training subsequent generations, from history &/or past knowledge, alone.

Bill Drayton said it best, "This is, one of those, incredibly rare moments in history, where there is a 'deep profound change' going on...and our job is to serve that...what a privilege". We are doing our best in the LEOlab...how are you accomplishing your 'personal' best...with, within, without, through & beyond this competition! Thanks Holly!

Pace your Peace WiTHiN Patience~!,

Aloha, lareva or as they say in Sri Lanka ayubowan
Greetings for the rest of the better world.

Thank you a b for taking the time to comment on my proposed project, it is most interesting and valuable reading and thank you also for remembering the Dinosaurs.
My 19 small years of orbiting our world has taken me to places far & wide and endowed me with inspiration that is now challenging me to take the steps to help make a Better World. I have lived in Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Philippines, United Kingdom and now Sri Lanka and traveled in Nepal, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Fiji, USA, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, New Zeland, Turkey and much of Europe, I have seen both realities of the fortunate & the not so fortunate and after 19 years I feel I must start telling these stories and the dreamer in me must now be realized and brought to reality through Media Save and by my actions I would like to give hope & inspiration to those with complicated lives in hardship environments all over the world so that one day they can also realize their dreams too by telling their stories and also the stories of others to inspire a better world. It would be awesome to get story tellers from around the globe to share world stories at a global level possibly a vision for the future however for now I will focus on a local level in PNG where there is a need to tell their stories locally & hopefully globally & to start inspiring a Better World using Media.

I am me, just a quiet young girl going along my way, dreaming of greater things to do & see, writing and singing my songs whilst my sister plays the guitar. I like to travel, see new places, take pictures and sit on the beach to dream some more, maybe make some films and drink a few beers and believe that just maybe I will better the world so much that it will go down in history.

M.Ghandi " A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history"

Cherio & thanks again.

You HAVE to go for it Holly! Media, as you are aware, is so very powerful, and I admire your vision to use this to allow other to have a voice and to tell their stories. Too often now we sit in the comfort of our living rooms watching and listening but not really connecting with what we see and hear. What is really inspiring, I think, is that you are drawing on your own background and your own international experiences too, and this makes your project sincere and meaningful.
There are so many people out there who have a story to tell and need to tell it. All the very best Holly. I sincerely hope you get the opportunity to give a voice to others.

Great Holly. There is such a need for what you are planning to do. To give people a voice and a way to comunicate their ideas and situations is a fantastic idea. Wish you best of luck and know you can make it work. Gunilla

This sounds a scintillating project as well as possibly preserving a slice of social history. I would commission this if I were running the BBC and it's hard to believe that this hasn't been done before. Film and radio as education, social awareness, art, culture, power .. you name it...it has to be a winner.
The project reminds me of a memorable radio programme about Arthur Miller's recordings of the voices, the protest songs and blues of striking black workers and railroad men in North Carolina in 1941. This was a superb cultural and historical record. Your project could hopefully go further and really help the people of PNG and personal empowerment is by far the best way to do this.

Great idea! Recommendation - sell & focus your initial idea on a small & managable group, town or village which garanutes success in the short term from an adminstrative, financial as well as minimizing any short falls experienced during the process. Step two would be to use this focal group as a module for teaching, yourself and others to continue to expand or replicate the success throuughout PNG and other developing nations. Why this recommedation to go small scale - becasue so many large scale proejcts are counterproductive. Success is a progressive process..Good Luck.

I'm especially impressed and let me know if I can be of help in any way...Best regards

Great idea which will definitely empower those involved in the project at all levels- storytellers, friends, family, helpers, supporters and all...I'm already inspired by looking at the Changemakers website and seeing the numbers keen to get going in so many different ways to promote change and enable those who are not so in control of their circumstances to improve things. People's stories need to be heard and sometimes this means shouting them and sometimes gently persuading people to listen and act.

Thank you every one for the comments, all very supportive and valuable and appreciated with sincerity. I apologize for the delay in responding but I am currently doing my IB (International Baccalaureate) mocks. I am a final year IB student studying at the British School of Colombo; my intention is to take a gap year and given the opportunity and funding to be a changemaker in rural PNG where 85% of the population lives on subsistence farming. Current Western influences is fast changing the simple ways of life and bringing cultures and changes that are negatively impacting the fragile primitive and rural societies, many of these society without a voice or representation, basic infrastructure or education to embrace the changes compassionately, and so often we see these stories imported and televised for our own entertainment with little impact to those that are affected, we see it as information and than forget about it. My proposal is to use western media as a positive and powerful medium for presenting and representing stories that affect and complicate the lives of rural people in PNG, to give them a platform to tell & show their stories to each other to encourage collective expression for their own awareness and for the awareness of others. I believe telling and showing stories through media in such isolated environments does not only educate, it empowers, enhances and informs and creates opportunity to even influence Governments & policy makers which will improve social, economic & personal issues of rural people in PNG and else where.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone including the change makers community for positively influencing my future, I would also like to congratulate all the entries as there are so many great and brilliant ideas that can really inspire a better world through media. I wish everyone the very best of luck in this competition and on your journeys as changemakers.

Thank you
Holly
