Please explain why your idea/project, is suited/perfect to using... 'media' ...to bring about A BETTER "WORLD"...the entire planet...? OOOOh, so close to our final entry, still to come.

Aloha Neutral Ground,

Joshua Johnson, WOW WOW what a powerful sequence of words (your name)! We have seen your potential to champion 'the loser' as we also know that there really IS NO SUCH THING or ANIMAL for those entering debates/competitions to "learn" from the interaction(s) they offer & receive, willingly, patiently, honestly & openly, UNLESS we're talking about the eat or be eaten animal kingdom, of which we are supposed to have risen from (those ashes of psychological ignorance).

The Resolution is a very strong name for such a forum. It encompasses the end result even before its beginning. WOW! Sounds like your skills manifesting, initially, from the Resolution that MUST exist in your personal life. Hence, our initial question. What's It Mean 2U? Regardless of the outcome of this competition, the opportunity to upload our hopes it the very first step of Inspiring BETTER MEDIA which will absolutely promote a BETTER WORLD, for ALL!

"Is it easier to believe what we choose, than what another chooses to show us from first-hand experience?" Second handedly, "Expectation kills the first-hand experience." You are truly "Be(ing) the change you want to see".

May "THE RESOLUTION" expand to encompass the ENTIRE PLANET,
Thank you for entering Joshua, we've all 'acquired' the same allergies, must be an epidemic (or something?),
a.

PS: We'd be more than happy to expound upon the power-sequence of your name, to confirm your passion(s) "&" add power to your direction/resolution.

Hi, there:

Thanks for your comment on my idea. Glad to see it struck a nerve and piqued your interest. I think that today, if you look around the world, there's a lot of conflict without very much "resolution". Part of the problem is, people have forgotten how to disagree without being violently disagreeable. Just this morning we learned of an Iranian dissident, a nuclear scientist, who was killed by a motorcycle bomb as he left his home. That's no way for reasonable people with differences of opinion to live with one another.

The fact of the matter is that in life, we are not all winners in the public arena. There is a winner and a loser in matters of policy. Sometimes, many times, compromise and consensus are possible, and I welcome those times. But in situations where someone is going to go away empty-handed, we as reasonable people have to be mature enough to learn to make our case, fight for it, and be honorable in accepting the outcome.

"The Resolution" can be a model, first on a local level and then on ever-expanding playing fields nationally and internationally, for how to do this. College students may be the best choices because they are young, much more open to various points of view, but still competitive and passionate about winning. And as much as I would enjoy a program that was all about helping people find consensus, that is not our chief problem right now.

People aren't killing each other over consensus.

So the idea is to give the world a working model, an open experiment, in how you can have an intense argument that's not just about listening to talking heads pointlessly. We will allow people to come to the table with what they think they know (hence, the 30 days to submit questions and tactics online), then see if their preconceptions are really as strong as they thought they were. And with a clear set of standards for scoring, viewers will know exactly why a particular point of view won or lost.

"The Resolution" is about showing people how even the hottest of hot-button issues can be debated reasonably, intensely, fairly and above all, respectfully. I'd say a more respectful world is a worthwhile goal, if for no other reason than making this a safer, freer world in which to live.

Thanks for your feedback; I certainly hope my response has been helpful. I hope someday soon you'll see what I'm talking about, when "The Resolution" debuts to the world!
