I have noticed that even folks who have had no previous experience in the mental health field still understand the pain and dispare of someone's life when viewed via video. Video's have been used for a very long time to capture world events, news and upcoming stories and events all over the world. I desire to stop the senseless killing of the mentally ill around the world by brining real life stories of the successes and failures of our health system through video story sharing. The media style I use can be converted into whatever language is necessary. People respond to real life stories, no matter the lanaguage. My story is common among many who are from countries that have used other methods to "Manage" their own mentally ill population. Orphanages, hospitals and finally corpses that have been dumped in mass graves are reminders of how the mentally ill have been treated in the past. It is time for humanity to see what other's have and are experiencing while living with mental illness or addiction along with the promise of hope through better education. I desire to save those who cannot speak for themselves by sharing my documentary, starting with Oregon's past history and a piece of my own experiences. Other video's will be produced as well focusing on other important topics.
"People respond to real life stories", & mostly when it reminds them of their own story. Imagine viewer-opportunities to upload video responses, video-donations, even video-encouragement/comments to a story that touches their heart.
Picture the impact of involvement, enhancing the experience for new viewers, "inspiring" & engaging them in a deeper, long term way. "Reap-eat visitors!"
Thank you for your passion...keep it going; what else can you add to expand the involvement of other entrants in this competition? Is there a way to collaborate to help grow your project, with unknown & unheard of perspectives, from 'our' evolving, revolving community? Thanks again Amy! Peace~!

SubCity has been added to facebook so that others may comment and discuss what they feel is important to them. There is also now a website that features all kinds of options to participate. This has all been done without any additional funding except for Kevin and his family.
There are many ways to contribute both experiences and ideas. I would love to repay Kevin and his wife for all they have done by paying the entire cost of production, so that my story and they stories of others can reach the world. My dream has been to try to save the world, most people never thought I could do it, but I still believe.
EVERYONE MUST WATCH http://subcityfilm.com/watch.html this film to understand that all of humanity is not too far away from experiencing living situations, like homelessness, waterborne diseases & poor water conservation & political subterfuge, in the name of legislation that takes lifetimes to enact.
Mental illness could be anything someone else doesn't understand about you or me & treats US ALL accordingly. We 'will' make impact when the rest of US see 'the other'... as ourselves. This entry is a winner...humanity has a mental illness. Thanks for entering, Amy. With time, teamLEOnardo 'will' be able to help US All.
