Hi Deepa,

I am truly inspired by your story. In order to attract funding to support your efforts you need a plan, an idea that has specific tasks and results. Is there anyway you can incorporate your catering business with these efforts. Perhaps you could link sport and professional skilsl to give paraplegic women twice the benefit. What would you do with the $5000 if you were awarded it?

you are right holly, i keep doing these crazy daredevil attempts like swimming in a river and riding a customized bike in various cities for people to get inspired to donate for my cause, which is happening. i am going to be catering for the upcoming national camp for archery in my city and if i win the prize then am going to spend it in making specail arrangements of travel and lodging for the wheelchair bound women as most of the time they dont step out for the competitions or camps because the things are still not wheel chair friendly in our country. love deepa courage on wheelchair

Is there a way of chanelling your efforts into a structured institution to enable sustainability and support.

You could perharps then get more people as part of your team to run the programme.

Are there any community sports lubs in your area who would be interested in your inovation?

hullo lombe thanks for your encouraging words..... wish you and your family infact your whole country a very safe and happy 2009. thanks for taking out time to read my entry. yes iam part of the paralympic committee of india- the sports head federation for physically challenged. but the sad part is no paraplegic woman is coming up to join the world of sports. i am trying to set an example and motivating them. i travel and lecture all the active rehab hospitals for spinal injuries in my country , send mails to all ngos working with physically challenged ... gradually may be the change will happen. love deepa courage on wheelchair
