What is your signature innovation, your new idea, in one sentence?

Using soccer embedded with other activities to get girls focused and achieve their goals- thus scoring the Goal the game and the goal aims at

How many people does your innovation serve or plan to serve? Exactly who will benefit?

As many girls around that we can get.

Do you have any existing partnerships? If so, please list and describe.

TRIUMPH FC- A club for both boys and girls. i have been talking with the head coach. since its a popular club around the girls can feel free to come around and be part of the initiative. they have the benefit of playing the game with other girls in the female team.
YTGA- A dance group by a friend, dance is one of the axctivities we will get the girls involved in. so this group is at hand for assistance

In which sector do these partners work? (Check all that apply)

How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing?

Because teen pregnancy is on the increase, we want to use sports(soccer) to capture these young girls and after that educate them and make them aware so they can become better persons later and achieve their GOALS. soccer will keep them busy, and working, apart from the the physical benefits, they will also be mentally fit, thus be receptive to the aim of the course or initiative. there are also other fun package to get them involved. we'll initiate the art of dancing and hand-on training so they can be better tools for change after all. if the talented soccer players do not make it as professionals, they will have other things to do because of the diverse knwledge they have gained. This initiative/project is part of my Program (My Global community) at Global Youthful Trends. initially it was computer training for boys and girls in highschool but we had to introduce soccer which is the most loved game in Nigeria

The Story

What stage is your project?

Idea phase .

What was the motivation or defining moment that led to create this innovation? Tell us the story.

Everyday i come across two or three pregnant teens. the rate of teen pregnancy is on the increase and i am greatly concerned about the future of these girls. Life ends for most of them when they give birth. My brother and I had thought about ways that we can help with to reduce this trend in teens. we knew it will take more than awareness, we thought it should be fun as well and soccer is fun, a game for both girls and boys

Please tell us about the social innovator behind this initiative

Myself, but my brother, Oghenekaro Oboido, a soccer player himself has concerns for girls as well. this may be my initiative, but his suggestion. I was born and live in Nigeria. I developed love for football at a very ealry age because it is almost a religion here. I participate in it for fun. I am a writer, an artist, inventor and social innovator for the public. my passion is Art, science, football, enviroment etc. i am the founder of global youthful trends. I hope i can effect change everday
