Hi all,

Addressing inequalities to make sure girls and boys have equal opportunities and resources is a fundamental factor bordering on the way society handles women issues. Our project therefore has a strong advocacy factor, using the local media, internet and forums like traditional durbars and festivals to ensure that women get equal access in all fields of human endeavour especially in sports.

Our sports academy sets out to train female footballers to be able to stand at par with their male counterparts in the country. Once a year, there are competitions held in schools by the local authorities, for girls and boys at the zonal and regional levels, after which nothing happens until another year. We seek to reverse that trend by combining education with sport skills to bring out females with a potential to fend for themselves. We let them play with boys at times to sharpen their skills but the concentration is to get them to be fit to play football at the same level with their male counterparts. With the strong advocacy element, we hope to get attention and interest from various quarters both local and foreign to change the face of female sports in the country.
