AHA! teaches teens social-emotional skills, self-knowledge, empathy, creativity, cooperation, communication skills, leadership, and acceptance of difference. It awakens and nourishes the drive to be of help and support to others and to causes that matter.

Our in-school and after-school programs will serve 1500 teens this year. We don't charge for our programs; we rely completely on donations, grants and fundraising to bring this curriculum to youth in our community.

We bring an active, experiential, egalitarian curriculum to teens through a team of skilled facilitators. Working at a ratio of no more than six teens to one facilitator provides a direct experience of mentorship rather than a teacher-student dynamic. Community and team-building games emphasize the positive impact of creative, cooperative play brings a sense of belonging and inclusivity.

Community listening circles build empathy and constructive voice. Restorative Justice councils teach youth to repair relationship harm in a meaningful, accountable way. We teach social and emotional skills within brief lecture models, then imprint and reinforce these lessons with experiential exercises.

AHA! has the potential to transform individuals and the culture they live in. It's the missing piece in education — a piece we have absolutely no business sending teens out into the world without.
