CNPAAEMI Booklet Series on Culture-Specific Psychology Research, Treatment and Training with Ethnic Minority Communities

CNPAAEMI developed the 3-booklet series to broadly disseminate research-based, and culture-specific and culture-centered strategies for mental health research, training, and treatment in ethnic minority communities. The booklets are titled Guidelines for Research in Ethnic Minority Communities, Psychological Treatment of Ethnic Minority Populations, and Psychology Education and Training from Culture-Specific and Multiracial Perspectives.

Serving the Underserved - Health Care in Men

New Era Health Center located in Philadelphia is caring for a population of chronically ill displaced men many are homeless veterans,  homeless elderly men with mental health disorders and elderly men released from prison. The most common social problem is lack of adequate housing employment and food. The most common medical problems include hypertensive cardiovascular and kidney disease and prostate cancer. While depression is present, treatable and preventable mental conditions are grossly overlooked. Addiction to nicotine, alcohol and narcotics is an epidemic in this community.

Ronda's Dream Center

Ronda’s Dream Center will provide a creative and stimulating visual environment for the developmentally disabled residents at Fairview Developmental Center. The Dream Center will consist of the Create room and Explore room. Imagery will be projected on four walls, simulating an immersive experience with interactive software and audio capabilities.
