Gas on wheels is an innovative idea aligned for CLEAN COOKSTOVES that will outmodern the delivery of LPG using customized (mini) gas trucks: Our "Top up or Refill" (Pay what you can afford) model for LPG will make it more readily affordable and available. Cheaper, cleaner, healthier and convenient.

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Its goal is to- Address the clean energy access needs of millions of people —Reduce exposure to smoke and other hazardous pollutants which kills millions annually —Create income opportunities by creating employment —reduce cutting down of trees (deforestation) —Reduce climate degradation (reduced CO2 emission).

Low patronage of LPG can be traced to lack of infrastructure in the distribution of LPG; bulk storage facilities are inadequate in comparison to the ratio of potential domestic users. Gas On Wheels will create awareness using our Proximity alert APP (an application which informs customers of gas refills in a locality) It will ensure conversion from harmful biomass to Liquefied Petroleum Gas in homes and businesses particularly in remote areas and communities. Our goal involves showcasing liquefied petroleum gas as a cheaper, cleaner and healthier burning fuel. It will achieve this through the use of Customized trucks(mini gas peddlers) for ease of access to urban and rural communities.

After initial launch, we intend to sell Patent licenses to parties in other zones and communities; however initially, we intend Year 1: Cater to residents and businesses in Ikeja, Isheri (Magodo Phase I, Otedola Estate, Omole Phase II. Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

The proposed customized gas trucks (gas peddlers) will each have a capacity for filling 400 cylinders of 12.5kg each day. Operating at 75 per cent capacity for 280 days per annum, a total of 112,000 cylinders will be sold at conservative market price. The capacity could be increased depending on the desire of the consumers based on cylinder size/volume. Based on our analysis, we aim to generate a turnover of over N336 million in the first year.

Gas On Wheels is a pioneer LPG delivery service however, there are several gas plants in and around the country where consumers go to for refills and purchases.

Founding Story

Gas On Wheels is an indigenously owned, liquefied petroleum gas delivery Company located in Lagos Sate. The owner of the Company researched into the feasibility of the business since 2013. The gas delivery business was conceived due to the way and manner cooking gas runs out in homes/businesses and the methods of refill currently available is not convenient and dependable. We currently have no data on the regularity or buying patterns of customers and their reorder levels. We thus came up with the "Top up or Refill" model for LPG use to showcase a cheaper, cleaner and healthier burning fuel while making it convenient.

Team

Gregory Righi has a Bsc in Microbiology, experience in business development, credit analysis and retail sales since 2001. Anthony Righi started his career as a Research Analyst. He is a Certified International Credit Professional, Certified Project Manager and holds a B.Sc in Archealogy, PGD in Technology Management and a MBA in Corporate Finance from Cardiff Metropolotan University, UK
