Project Summary
Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

H2CWorld brings out communities/groups' strengths and facilitates the creation of local responses which take place within through the CLCP/SALT approach. H2CWorld is flexible and open to positive changes and connections!

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

What if there is a positive virus growing worldwide which is enabling communities and individuals to take action to address their own issues and concerns?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

We address the emergent and patent dependency that developmental aid incite communities in Ghana. Particularly external aid that comes from external organizations prevents individuals and communities from addressing their own issues and taking ownership of their concerns and dreams. Additionally, this is aggravating the gap between locals and foreigners, this vicious relationship is creating a biased view of the world on both sides.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Communities around the world are already taking action through different little feasible actions they are taking to improve their concerns and to build what they dream of. Communities and individuals decide together what should be done in an ambience of non-hierarchy, cooperation and appreciation. This process is called the Community Life Competence Process. In this continuous cycle, communities have the opportunity to grow together and to develop into what they are ready for. The different stages of this process are accompanied by a question or statement. Who are we? Where do we want to go? Where are we now? How are we going to do it? Fascilitators like us make the process easiers.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Situation B) Z community is worried, children are dying of poor hygiene. Local organizations have gone there several times in order to sensitize the community about health issues. A group of facilitators are invited to help the community address this lack of hygiene. The community dreams about their ideal community (where no child dies from poor hygiene). Long discussions take place and they evaluate their own situation (with the help of the facilitator’s team). They decide what to do, they need their people to wash their hand (they have learned during the sensitization workshops how microbes get to their babies). They had a brilliant idea! They are going to build water containers next to their toilet. Once this is done everyone is proud, c

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

The impact is highly recorded in community issues like malaria and HIV-AIDS (Congo, Thailand…). As we said before, what if this positive virus spread daily among communities around the world?

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

Two main spreading sources are: the connection of communities around the world. Lorry drivers in India have a lot to share with lorry drivers in Nigeria. Perhaps improving the connection between communities can help them address similar issues more rapidly. Another source is to create new facilitator teams around the world. We learned from others and we want to transfer what we know to others who want to do the same.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

This project requires little budget, communities pay for the SALT visit an amount which varies, depending on the capability of the community to cover the invitation of the facilitators' team.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

Many organizations are already doing this around the world. We follow the steps Constellation, who is present worldwide (see below) , in Ghana it is only us who work with the SALT/CLCP approach. But the Community Life Competence Process is not unique, similar strenght based approaches get positive results and therefore we are always open to connect to people with similar goals.

Founding Story

H2CWorld wants to compensate some of the negative effects of external aid in "developing" countries, H2CWorld believes in the strenghts and competences of communties around the world who can start and decide what are the changes that have to be done. We follow a working approach linked to an international organization Constellation (www.communitylifecompetence.org) which has been facilitating communities all around the world since more or less a decade now. We want to spred this stream of positive change in Ghana as no groups have experienced the CLCP/SALT approach until now!

The present team are 3 people from 3 different countries and backgrounds, which makes us a rich team of SALT facilitators Hans, a Belgian young man with a social entrepreneurial spirit and hunger to innovate and grow. Yorke, a Ghanaian young man with a lot of energy to change things around him. Carmen, a Spanish young woman who finds human connection one of the most enriching things in her life With more to come we are always open to welcome more people to our team.
