Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.
A few months Ago i was Approached by a Kenyan Member of parliament to spread propaganda about our county governor and he promised to pay me about $200 for every tweet i write attacking the governor and his Tribe. Since i had experienced the 2007 post Election violence i knew how my tweets might turn everything to chaos so i declined the offer.
Some few weeks ago i saw on one of the whatsapp groups a screen shot of a conversation and a picture of a naked lady, since her number was on the conversation i took it and called her. she was shocked that her nude photos have leaked and she wanted to commit suicide. I helped her to calm down and she has now joined my campaign.
Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.
since I have Helped A few guys who were even being used by rival companies and politicians to bring down their competitors and now they have reached a point where they turn down fat offers from politicians for the good of the society, I am very sure if empowered i will do more and more and help even the young ones who might join the cartels in future.
I am sure with your help i will be able to help more youths know exactly what to share online and what is not supposed to be shared. This will bring sanity to the society and reduce the high rate of suicides youths are committing because of the judgement they get from the society.
Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?
First of all We are going to use the same social media platforms to educate the users, since 90% of Kenyan youths belong to at least one social media platform. Then we can use a one on one platform like visiting different high schools and colleges to educate them on the safe use of social media. We will also Make advertisements on TV , Radio and News papers to reach more people of different age groups.
Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?
We can use our platform to have programs on TV stations and earn from them and also using our online media like blogs and social media platforms we can do some online advertisements of different interested brands. From these advertisements and promotions we can raise revenue to support our project forever.
Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?
Nobody is addressing the same problem like mine.
Founding Story
When I saved a lady By the name Susan who wanted to commit suicide after her Nudes photos were being shared on the social media platforms. I had to comfort her and made sure she has joined me. I told her that only two weeks are enough to kill the story, online users will always get tired of something and jump to another Trending issue.
Team
We are only two, We do it as a passion for part time. We need a group of more youths so that we can influence more and more to make our social media platforms a safe place.
