Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

We face different problems: Problem 1: The weakness of the issue of tourism in countries with fewer resources to attract more tourists. Less knowledge on these regions and their activities among the potential tourists from other areas (Europe, North Asia, etc ...). Solution: The humanitarian wikiguias. Problem 2: Lack of cutting edge technologies for the marketing and sale of inventory on line from local suppliers. Solution: Platform central generation via Apis individual stocks. Problem 3: Lack of training in using web 2.0 tools for managing business-oriented small and medium business hotel, unfamiliar with these new ways of distributing their products. Solution: Training courses offered by local institutions to promote tourism which is accessed through Amadeus.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

a. The innovation of the collaborative wiki guides is a base to promote the tourism in a country, to share its attractions, activities, roads, social projects, accommodations; b. The integration of the wiki guides to the social networks, in such a way that the content of the tourist and the question lead the way to communications in the social network; c. The possibility that the small suppliers have to access the last generation technology and hence put them at the same level as the big suppliers. It supports itself on local tourism: respectful of traditions and environment. d. Informs on social projects in the country; e. The same system distributes due to: e1. The wikiguias will be donated to the major institutions in each country to publish the contents tourist in their own web portals; e2.La generation platform central reservation will be donated by Amadeus to small hotels in each country, while integrating its contents in your GDS for global distribution among travel agencies; e3. The donation of any content via API / Web service to any travel agency in the world on request; e4. Google dissemination of destinations through the Google Grants program which is part of the Foundation; f. The dynamics of the applications that allows the generation of employment and wealth to other sectors such as handicrafts, cuisine and commerce in general, strengthening the local geotouristic issues. Besides this type of Web 2.0 tools. we will provide all the benefits of technology to the tourism sector in Latin America, maximizing the potential of social networking and promotion channels.

Las plataformas de software de la Fundación Bip Bip han sido donadas por una empresa especializada en el sector como es The travelmixer que trabaja para 2000 agencias de viajes en España como metabuscador, para Instituciones de promoción del turismo como El gobierno de Euskadi, el Ayuntamiento de Gijón o Amadeus.

Software platforms Bip Bip Foundation have been donated by a company specialized in the sector such as The Travelmixer who works for 2000 travel agencies in Spain and Metasearch engine for tourism promotion institutions as the government of Euskadi, the City Council Gijón or Amadeus.
From these platforms Bip Bip Foundation has developed the Humanitarian Wikiguias project to help developing countries increase their economic resources through tourism and involving employees of companies such as Banco Santander, Banesto, Google, Novartis, .... etc. whose employees assist in loading content wikiguías through voluntary actions in the CSR programs of these companies.
This experience of more than 3 years of activity, which Bip Bip Foundation is shifting to countries like El Salvador, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Brazil with the help of Amadeus, which provides the capillary to the project.

It is our intention that in the coming years, most Latin American countries have to offer our technology and that wikiguias be a core element in the dissemination of such tourist destinations in social networks, while local suppliers are adopting technological tools Bip Bip Foundation offers.

Actions

1. Creating Humanitarian Wikiguias contained in the regions of Latin America through collaboration: business volunteers, public institutions, local communities, NGOs ...
2. Communication and dissemination among various stakeholders in the tourism sector in the region of existence of the management platform for Booking Bip Bip Foundation. This campaign is made possible by the alliance with AMADEUS who contacts with stakeholders and training to local suppliers (beneficiaries) on the operation of the platform.
3. Development of new applications (version 2) for existing platforms (version 1) as: massive load of information in Wikiguías, systematic dissemination in social networks, dynamic bundling sub module generation platform reservation centers, creating Advanced Web Pages ...
4. Integration and online charging by local suppliers of their inventory and load the contents of these Wikiguias.

Results

1. Creating a complete wikiguia performance for each country loaded with products and offerings for improved presentation of the destination (transport, accommodation, restaurants, museums, NGOs, projects ...), the first wikiguia El Salvador, followed by Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, etc.
2. Development and implementation of power generation platform for online reservation between local tourism providers. It is estimated to register at least an average of 50 hotels between 1 and 2 star in each country where the platform is implemented.
3. Development and implementation of new features for Humanitarian Wikiguias platforms.
4. Attraction of institutions to promote local tourism to join the dissemination of wikiguias and platform generation central reservation identified in their respective areas of influence.
5. Attraction of Google and diffuser of Wikiguias initiative within its CSR program.

What will it take for your project to be successful over the next three years? Please address each year separately, if possible.

First year:
To: El Salvador, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia
- Collaboration between public and private actors (Ministry of tourism of the respective countries, chambers of commerce) and involvement of the hotels in their own development.
- More human resources management and dissemination of version 1
- Equipment for new applications development of Version 2
Second year:
The project will expand to Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and Chile.
- Ability to capture content generators for Humanitarian Wikiguías
- Collaboration between public and private actors (Ministry of tourism of the respective countries, chambers of commerce) and involvement of the hotels in their own development.
- Human resource capacity for the maintenance, management and dissemination of version 2
- Equipment development for new applications constantly evolving.
Third year:
- The above needs are repeated as the country expanded, which will take into account those countries with which we already have agreements and in terms of per capita income countries.

What would prevent your project from being a success?

The first obstacle is the political will of the government: there is a risk of reduced participation if the government does not support or facilitate the access channels to small and medium hotels, and dissemination of local tourist information via collaborative wikiguias.
Another obstacle could be the level of collaboration that can exist by professional hoteliers and tourism activities, when to adapt their traditional management of resources, new ways of selling their products online and in networks social platform can offer FBB.
Many beneficiaries do not have adequate training and may be reluctant to receive new knowledge about new technological tools.

Partnerships with companies such as AMADEUS are essential to the success of the project, since they will capture beneficiaries in the field through local offices and their own partnerships with public entities such as ministries, and private entities such as chambers of commerce and associations ...
Partnerships already established by Bip Bip with large business groups (Banco Santander, Banesto, Google, Novartis, .... etc.) are essential for the generation of the content in Wikiguías through voluntary actions that their employees performed within corporate social responsibility developed by the company.

The proposed initiative has three pillars where you have to put more effort to carry out all actions with successful results and reach the objectives, efforts will focus on:
- Increase the capacity for technological development to expand the services offered to beneficiaries through and Humanitarian Wikiguías Receptivemixer platform.
- Develop new dynamic actions among users for greater use of the platform by the beneficiaries.
- Get the resources needed to implement the tool in other countries through established relationships with public and private entities.

The Story
What was the defining moment that led you to this innovation?

This innovation has-been done due to a donation by the company The Travelmixer to Bip Bip and their Platforms Specialized software in tourism. In view of the successes achieved by them in the Spanish market, which is the second largest tourism market in the world, it seemed appropriate to transfer the experience to developing countries.

Tell us about the social innovator behind this idea.

The foundation Bip Bip is the entity responsible for this project. This organization's mission is to promote social integration of persons belonging to vulnerable groups through ICT (Information Technology and Communication), mainly through projects and services to organizations nonprofit.
The foundation directs its activities primarily in Spain the following groups at risk of social exclusion: immigrants, drug addicts in rehabilitation, children in care, the elderly, prisoners in the process of rehabilitation, people with physical and mental disabilities, homeless, and female victims gender-based violence among others.
In order to meet the goals of expanding the use of communication technologies so that these contribute positively to the inclusion in the Information Society and improving the quality of life of those most vulnerable, Bip bip carried out throughout its existence a number of projects and actions, including the most recent include:
1. Provision of computer equipment. Since 2000 public calls have been conducted aimed at NPO's that need equipment. In this sense have been conducted pilot projects to provide computer equipment to people with disabilities in their homes;
2. Supportive content creation (related to the purpose of the application) in which there were several portals and continued doing maintenance to the force: www.conectadas.org, www.puntoorg, org, www.ciudadbipbip.org, www.navegatranki . org, www.microvoluntarios.org, "game on volunteering"
3. Fomación: "Form @ NERT for NPO's professionals, a project that involves training of NPO's as a basic tool to provide a quality service in the work of these professionals;
4. Dissemination and social awareness: Through the Foundation's newsletter, Bip Bip Awards, participation in the fair SIMO;
5. Other activities: provision of services for the creation of websites to NPO's;

How will your project address this problem?

The project addresses this problem by getting an intensive use of our technology by small and medium tourism service providers in Latin America. The two platforms Bip Bip made available for this are:
a. Generation platform for collaborative content distribution web portals in the country or travel agencies worldwide.
b. Power generation platform for online booking for tourism providers both in the hotel industry and the transport sector or local activities.
- The first, "humanitarian wikiguías" will raise awareness for all tourism interests of the countries of Latin America in a single repository of information fed through the collaborative efforts of volunteer business associations, tourism schools, universities, etc. The contents are: flights, accommodation, restaurants, activities, routes, internal transport, monuments, diaries, photos, videos.
- The second will allow local tourism providers have their own reservation centers to offer their channels on all the national and international travel.
At the international level in collaboration with the company Amadeus guarantee the delivery of these offerings to all travel agents.
- Through the donation of API, this content can be viewed on the official website of the country as in any tourist package tour operators upon request.
- Will be released to all institutions for the promotion of tourism in a country.
- Bip Bip Foundation will provide part of its budget in the Google Grants program to promote Latin American destinations. Local NGOs help get grants to turn to manage the promotion of their localities with a larger budget communication.
- Seeking a greater availability of the latest technology for the very young, small and medium tourism providers in Latin America.

It is our intention that in the coming years, most Latin American countries have to offer our technology and that wikiguias be a core element in the dissemination of such tourist destinations in social networks, while local suppliers are adopting technological tools Bip Bip Foundation offers.
The direct beneficiaries are the small and medium local tourist providers of all Latin American countries (lower-class hotels to large chains, restaurants, organizers of activities and sports, transport companies ... etc).
If we mention the examples of El Salvador, 216 hotels and 289 restaurants (2005e) may be benefit in addition to other activities directly related (car rental, organizing leisure activities .. etc).
The role of these suppliers is instrumental in the creation of local wealth, the strengthening and revitalization of tourism in a sustainable manner since become major players in their own development.
In addition, travel agencies and international will be more informed and diversified supply promoting the charms of a village, a region, a Latin American country.

How will the project's results assist the region’s tourism sector and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises?

Positive impact:
- energizing and elevating the overall tourism revenue;
- increasing the number of visitors to countries and diversify the flow of them (usually come mostly from the region itself, eg to El Salvador in Central America);
- providing access to technology normally reserved for large international suppliers. This project will allow small tourism businesses access to new sales channels and promotion;
- increasing local revenue is expected to benefit major reversal in the same area of influence;
- providing more training and information to beneficiaries to new technologies and direct application to your business;
- giving a boost to the promotion of regions and their characteristics (food routes, places, monuments, crafts ... etc);
- creating more choice and new packages;
