What are the existing barriers, the biggest problem, your innovation is hoping to address/change?

Lack of sport for street children and children in need.

Delivery Model: How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing?

It will be delivered through two local organizations and training coaches and social workers who are doing the implementation. We will have female and male trainers.

How do you plan to grow your innovation?

After the children are regularly going to training 3x a week we will offer more sports and social skills training. We also expand to more cities in the south.

What impact has your innovation had to date/or what is your intended impact? Exactly who are the beneficiaries?

The street children will benefit from the programme in becoming less socially isolated and having access to better trained social workers.

How many people have you served directly?

ca. 300 children and 50 social workers

How many people have you served indirectly?

By adding to the skills of the social workers we are improving the lives of all of their clients, not just those directly served by our programme.

We have attracted the support of many organizations including e.g. the FES

What are the main barriers to creating or achieving your impact?

Lack of sport and lack of knowledge about sport.

Sustainability
How is your initiative financed (or how do you expect your initiative will be financed)?

We are looking for support for the first 2 years from Northern partners. Later in Sudanese foundations.

It will cost approximately 100 000 a year for the first two years.
We are a professional organisation and work with students from local universities.

What is the potential demand for your innovation?

There are 40 000 street children in Khartum alone.

What are the main barriers to financial sustainability?

The political situation in Sudan makes it hard for sponsors to imagine taking part.
