Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

Our venture is trying to break cultural boundaries with our talents in music. We want to bring our diverse population together. We've noticed that some people aren't very accepting and we want to change that. We want to expose other cultures and have people from different backgrounds join together and make music expressing their passion for their culture. This could possibly change people's outlook and make them more accepting. Plus, this will help artists persue their music career without breaking their bank. We plan to donate some of our profits to charities and possibly host our own charity concert.

Venture Description:

Our venture is trying to break cultural boundaries with our talents in music. We want to bring our diverse population together. We've noticed that some people aren't very accepting and we want to change that. We want to expose other cultures and have people from different backgrounds join together and make music expressing their passion for their culture. This could possibly change people's outlook and make them more accepting. Plus, this will help artists persue their music career without breaking their bank. We plan to donate some of our profits to charities and possibly host our own charity concert.

Venture Origin:

Joe came up with the idea back in 2005. He's been rapping for 5 years and he's always wanted to run his own record label. Once he moved to Nashua,NH from Rutland, VT he felt there was a big enough population and interest that he could start it there. Then he met up with Rose, a singer & dancer. With her on his team, the label has became a reality.

Innovation

Our venture makes music blind. Color & culture doesn't matter to us. This makes people around us feel more secure and less afraid of what people might think. It makes them free. Our talents, and our artists' talents, will show others that people have things to say they just need to take the time and listen instead of making assumptions. We will raise money from record sales and concerts.

Impact
Impact:

Impact: We just became a venture on 2/6/07, so we haven't had much time to "make a difference" yet as a venture. But, our past experiences and actions have changed people's minds. We've made a difference individually and now were working together to make a bigger difference.

Engagement with the community: We've talked to one artist about our label and he's interested. He always had a dream to rap but he never really persued it. We give him a drive. We give him the opportunity to make his dream become reality. We plan to have more artists just like him.

Impact and engagement progress since launch: Again, we just became a venture,so we haven't had time to make our goals a reality. Once we got the "go ahead" from Youth Venture we've been planing our next steps and are now able to work towards our goals.

Impact and engagement strategy: We hope that people with talents will see us (we will put up flier and ads) and see that were making a difference and want to be a part of that. If people have a drive, we can help them do what they love. Were here to help them.

Awards: We haven't recieved any awards yet (being only a day old).

Budge:t

Amount of Youth Venture seed grant: $1000

Money raised: Just became a venture yesterday (2/6/07).

Creative ways of raising resources: As a venture, we discuss where money is going or how we're going to spend it.

Strategy:

Expansion plan for next 6 months: We plan to have cd's made and put out. We plan to host and perform our own concerts. We also plan to create a mentor program for someone that will help keep the business going once Joe goes off to college.

Plans for sustaining the project: We will have a mentor program. We will be constantly looking for new talent. We will be producing new material/cd's constantly. We will be gaining awareness and interested people will hopefully follow.

Vision for three years from now: In three years we will have impacted people's outlook of cultures other than their own. People will become more accepting in our community. People will be more comfortable around one another. We will still be performing in concerts and doing charity events.

Project impact:

We've only been a Venture for a day, but all of the members of our venture have made differences in the past. All members have been active in community sevices and have helped people. Now that we're a team we can work off of eachother and make a greater impact.

Sustainability
Youth Venture movement - what it means and how you can contribute:

We think its great to be part of this movement. Being part of this movement shows us that we're not the only ones. We now know that we have others that share our experiences and "have our back". We feel more confident being part of the Youth Venture Movement.
