Meet the CSV Prize 2018 Finalists: Next Stop Brasilia!
What a busy few months we have had! Let's recap on the CSV Prize to date:
Applications for the Creating Shared Value Prize were open to social enterprises, commercial enterprises and nonprofit entities creating shared value in any country around the world. We received 1072 applications from 106 countries in 4 languages. 56 semifinalists were invited to submit further information, which were then reviewed by a cohort of experts in water, nutrition and rural development from the Nestle and Ashoka networks. 14 initiatives were presented to the CSV Council, who then selected our final 6: Fishers & Changemakers from Philippines; IDESAM from Brazil; Inka Moss from Peru; KadAfrica from Uganda, Maji Mamas from Kenya; Mumm from Egypt!
Their outstanding social innovations each address a growing need for good nutrition, safe water or enhanced rural development, supporting Nestlé’s purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future.
Before pitching their ideas in front of a live audience at the 2018 Creating Shared Value Forum in Brazil, the finalists will attend a two-day bootcamp designed and led by Ashoka. The Bootcamp will give the opportunity to CSV Prize Finalists, previous CSV Prize Winners, Nestlé employees and Ashoka teams to engage with each other, and with key stakeholders in the sectors of Water, Nutrition & Rural Development. This one day workshop will provide support and inspiration to participants, allowing participants to share their critical business challenges with experts, to refine their storytelling skills and prepare finalists to pitch in front of the final jury.
The winner/s will be announced on 16 March and receive prizes totalling CHF 500,000 to scale up their initiatives and make a lasting impact on people’s lives.
Who will be the next big innovator in sustainability? Follow the pitches and winners' announcement live on the Ashoka Facebook page on 16 March at 17h10 GMT-3 / 21h10 CET.
