HrH (Health replaced Hazard) solves two pressing, malnutrition and waste related environment pollution, problems through an innovative social business model for 6 millions of slum people of Bangladesh. HrH is keeping green and educing malnutrition without cost for slum people creating employment.

About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Problem. 1:: More than 80% of the slum children are chronically malnourished. They suffer from ill-health and diseases like throughout their lives . FAO says that 9.5 million children are suffering from malnutrion. Problem. 2:: Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, produces more than 5000 tons of waste per day. But there is no proper waste management system in these slums. Thus, high environmental pollution becomes the cause of an unhealth

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

HrH will collect waste from the slums through the micro-prenuers (waste collector) who are slum dwellers. They will bring wastes to the HrH decentralized processing points. Here the waste will be separated into two parts, organic and inorganic waste. The organic waste will be treated to make fertilizer and the inorganic waste containing plastics and polythene will be sold to the recycling firms. Selling the fertilizer and the inorganic waste will give us handsome revenue. This money will be again used for reducing malnutrition in the same slums from which the waste will be collected. HrH will provide them with spirulina to these slum family children free of cost. Spirulina is type of blue-green algae, rich in protein, vitamins, minerals.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Hmm, think, a slum families are not concerned with waste management. Thus it creates environment pollution for all. Baically slum people live near rivers, canals and lower areas. This thing is disastrous for all. Here HrH works takes these wastes from them and make it worthy for huge lives. This taken waste are retuned as spirulina free for them from making utility of collected waste. Does it make any sense for them? They are getting waste management service free and one spirulina tablet in one day for their children without any cost. The ultimate consumers need not pay directly; rather they will provide just their domestic wastes that they used to throw in the road side, rivers or elsewhere. In return, they are getting NUTRITION.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

There is no direct competition of HrH as it is completely different idea than that of traditional one. However, Only there are some people who take waste form urban areas with cost of $4. If they move to slum they wont survive as slum dwellers don't pay. HrH thinks there some NGOs can operate services like us. HrH hope that with start of operation, We will be able to make big difference with our distinct model.

Your Solution
Founding Story: Share a story about the “Aha!” moment that led you to get started and/or to see the potential for this to succeed.

Three years ago, I was crossing slum areas. I saw dumps are filled with waste.. Buriganga river is no more for waste. In same time saw many children are underweight.................... So, I was thinking a model that can solve two different problems in one business but they have not to pay anything. ahhh, by the grace of Allah almighty, I got a model!!! named Health replaced Hazard

Select Sector(s): To which of Unilever's categories of sustainability does your solution apply?
