I Perceived this Idea after seeing how people are disposing off the wastes. I took an initiative to risk and start a venture where in cam make use of waste that sustainable agriculture. in that way am involved in recycling through the use of used plastic bottles.

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Poor Methods of farming, Environmental degradation through poor disposal of wastes materials and low income generation for uneducated rural materials

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Forming a FAL class for old people where am going to train them on how practice modern methods of farming which is sustainable like use of plastic bottles to provide constant supply of water (drip irrigation) Secondly sorting of none degradable materials from degradable. The none degradable will put in one place to allow the soil grow while the degradable materials is used as manure after collected and put in rubbish pit later transferred to the infertile gardens.

The mobilized uneducated people in my village have had their first orientation workshop on the introduction of this project and how its going to help the community in terms of environmental conservation, increasing their income through the sale of produce from their gardens and the use of available materials like the use of used bottles in drip irrigation, polythene bags in weaving.

Currently its the government but doing it in Town centers like town councils. Mine is different in way that Am making money out of the waste materials

The customers are the community members from other areas where my venture does not reach, I have a plan of expanding my venture to cover the whole county of Buyanja which comprises of four sub counties. In this way more be will be enrolled in my initiative.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date and expected impact in the future?

So far two groups have been formed and people have started collecting garbage and sorting them where non degradable materials are put aside to be sold to people who do construction to be installed on the walls to act as security. While the degradable material have been used in agriculture. Eight People have set sound kitchen gardens and In future I wish to start training More people on new methods of gardening like Double digging.

In future am going to enroll more sub counties apart from Kyebando where i come from. These people will be enrolled in my vision of having creating prosperity through the use of available materials

In order to run this venture we need to make a budget to run the activities of the venture. This budgets will be financed by the following
1. There is contribution from the members
2. Training fees from new members
3. Sale of products made and produced by the venture

I started using the dried banana Fiber and polythene bags to make Baskets which i sold. From the sale iw as able to contribute tuition for my brother as for me i won scholarship from URDT Kagadi
