Christopher Brechlin has been helping nonprofits use data to maximize their social impact for over three years. As founder of Blueprint for a Dream, he works with community leaders to build interactive, web-based data tools that inform social programs and make it easy for nonprofits to effectively tell the story of their impact, with a special commitment to affordable, sustainable solutions.
Blueprint for a Dream has helped more than 15 public and private organizations tap into the power of data for fundraising, assisting them to successfully bring over $4 million to the Windham Region of Connecticut for affordable housing and apply for an additional $4 million.
Christopher currently serves on Gov. Dannel Malloy’s and the City of Hartford’s Open Data Advisory Panels, working with community partners to establish an open data culture throughout Connecticut.
He has also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Nonprofit Alliance of Northeast Connecticut and has been recognized for his expertise in nonprofit management and leadership as a US State Department Fellow. Eastern Connecticut State University awarded Christopher its 2014 Community Partner Award for his service to the Willimantic community. Previously, Christopher has served as the Director of Development for Arts for Peace, a United Nations affiliate. In his spare time, he is working side-by-side with Millennials to diminish Connecticut’s brain drain and build vibrant communities for young people across the state.
