Over the last 20 years, I've enjoyed starting-up organizations and programs that support schools, learning and overall youth development. I've created new schools and learning models, and forged major partnerships with industry leaders from multiple sectors. In 2015, my team designed an educational model that was named Champion in the global "Re-Imagine Learning" challenge by LEGO and Ashoka.
In 2003, I co-founded LA’s Promise (aka MLA Partner Schools), an education management organization working to turnaround LAUSD's most challenged schools. And in 2012, I designed and co-founded Metro Charter Elementary School, a uniquely diverse public school serving children in the burgeoning core of downtown Los Angeles.
Most recently, I became the founding Executive Director of the Imagination Foundation, a nonprofit committed to fostering creativity and entrepreneurship in children around the world. The Foundation was sparked by the worldwide popularity of the short film, Caine's Arcade, and works in over 60 countries.
