In Nigeria the number of active mobile phone users is about 110.3 million as at November 2012, making about 66.4% of the entire Nigerian population; a decent number of farmers have access to these mobile phones, making it practically possible to attempt the task of bridging the agro information gap.
The majority of Nigeria’s smallholder farmers are often too poor to employ modern tools, such as tractors and plows, even with substantial government support. In this respect, the primary concerns of over 10 million smallholders in Nigeria are: Soil fertility, Extension Services and High Crop Yield!
