Impact: What is the impact of the work to date?
To date, Nabbesh has 30,000 members and has created over 3,000 jobs through our platform. Micro Impact: Creating 3,000 high quality, private-sector, employment opportunities for Emirati women will lead to diversity in the workforce, inclusion of Emirati women, knowledge transfer and economic empowerment of these women. Macro Impact: Nabbesh's strategic objective is to radically alter MENA's unemployment statistics by connecting freelancers with project-based opportunities in the region. The www Initiative will not only increase the number of Emirati women in the private-sector, it will also bring about important social change to the region. As an important regional leader both socially and economically, the UAE will be able to positively shape the region towards more economic and social equality for women, while diminishing the region's growing unemployment crisis.
Barriers: What barriers might hinder the success of your project and how do you plan to overcome them?
The founders of Nabbesh are women who have grown up in the war torn Middle East, encountering challenges on a daily basis. At Nabbesh we are not afraid of barriers to success and we do not wait for the perfect set of circumstances in order to make an impact. Rather, we are thinking beyond the region's limitations and barriers by creating a new work paradigm that we believe has the potential to resonate well beyond the MENA region.
Full Impact Potential: What are the main spread strategies moving forward? (Please consider geographic spread, policy reform, and independent replication/adoption of the idea or other mechanisms.)
Our main strategies for a successful and replicable business model center on getting it 'right' in the Emirati women's market. The UAE is a traditional leader in women's rights and educational equity, and the UAE's government policies are ripe for this initiative.
