What if diverse, engaging books were the rule, rather than the exception? Equal Read increases diversity in children’s literature and uses inclusive books and curricula to build empathy and narrow the achievement gap, working with schools, libraries, publishers, authors, and researchers.

UnChained, Inc.

UnChained aims to shape the lives of at-risk youth and save the lives of shelter dogs by teaching youth to train and socialize dogs in need of adoption. The youth develop values of patience, respect and responsibility for themselves and others, through relationship building with dogs.

Creating Compassionate Cultures offers educational programs for youth, families, educators, and psychologists based on proven curriculum, which awakens wisdom, ethics, and compassion for others, empowering them to make a positive difference in their relationships with their families and communities.

Help Each Other Out

For young people, personal hardships like loss, illness, or coming out too often lead to a sense of isolation by peers, family, and school personnel. Help Each Other Out inspires youth and adults in school and other community settings to reach out when life is rough with practical tips that work.

Center for Council

Center for Council is initiating and expanding programs, based on its successful pilot program in Soledad, California, that build positive culture, both inside and outside of prisons, and supporting successful reentry and re-integration of formerly incarcerated individuals into their communities.
