Please enclose a short personal biography.
My name is Estelle Bougna Fomeju, I am a dynamic and creative Pan-Africanist with a multicultural education. I am deeply passionate about social justice, art, political activism and youth empowerment.
I was born in Cameroon, raised in Guinea, Chad and Mali. I am currently finishing up graduate school at the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po Paris, while working on a variety of personal and professional projects.
I am eager to learn, create and implement innovative means of fostering positive change in individual lives and society at large. This is why I tend to seize and develop opportunities. When I got to university I set up the Bureau des Arts, an association to promote visual and performing arts. After 5 years, the organization has expanded and is still up and running thanks to its solid foundations. My brother and I just launched a radio station in Douala, Cameroon (www.newafricastation.radiosite.fr) which objective is to be become the first plateform for the promotion of the youth, as the radio is still the 2nd most used media in sub-saharan Africa.
I have been able to acquire professional experience without never formally applying for a job thanks to speaking up during conferences and major events or recommendations from people with whom I had worked on some projects. This is how I was able to intern at Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC, Friends of the Congo, The Howard Theather (as part of the marketing team). This is also how I became Project Coordinator at Akendewa, since September 2014, where I took on this project, Nos Langues.
