To be eligible for this Challenge, applying initiatives must fulfil the below criteria:  

Age: Applicants must be over 18 by the time of the application deadline 

Geography: Initiatives must be designed and delivered for the city of London.  

Language: All applications should be submitted in English. 

Registration: The lead applicant/ organisation applying to this Challenge must be registered in the UK and have a London-based address. 

 

Lead applicant organisation type:

The lead applicant organisation to this Challenge should be a non-profit organisation (including schools, universities, and local authorities). For-profit organisations can be part of the partnership (which we encourage), but must work on a cost–recovery only basis and cannot be the lead applicant. 

Affiliation: 

Employees (and their children and grandchildren) of Ashoka or any of their respective affiliates and participating advertising and promotion agencies are NOT eligible to apply to the Challenge.

Other engagements with Go! London or Ashoka:  

Previous and existing Go! London grantees are eligible to apply and/ or be part of a partnership or coalition that is applying.  

Applicants are also eligible to submit multiple applications or to apply to both Challenges offered by Ashoka and Go! London – but will only be able to progress through the stages of one of them.  

Initiative stage:  

Initiatives at all stages (early, mid, and late stage) are all welcome to apply.  

If your solution has not been implemented at scale; you must have a clear plan and a minimum-viable solution (prototype, pilot, or another proof of concept), evidence of access to a lease for the space you are leveraging, and you must have evidence of a track record in London among the partnership/ consortium.  

Requirements across stages of the Challenge (for finalists and winners):  

Finalists will be  required to engage in an 8-week capacity building programme with this Challenge.  

Finalists will be asked to provide a budget breakdown for their initiative, as well as a clear project plan to implement their work as part of the refinement phase. There are restrictions on how the grant money may be used; please refer to the T&Cs for details.

Winners will also be asked to report on (1) grant spending, and (2) impact, using a provided impact measurement tool.
