About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Motivated by the energy conditions in Indonesia, where energy demand growth is greater than it’s supply and driven by the fact that Indonesia ranked top in the energy elasticity index in ASEAN. Of these problems can be concluded that Indonesian society is not wise in the use of energy. Our people waste energy in a non-productive way such as leaving a room with AC and TV turned on. If we don't change this, it would be catastrophe.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

We found there are two effective methods to solve the problem, thus are by monitoring and comparing with others that are proven to decrease the energy consumption of 7 and 3 percent and change habits. From there, we developed a plan to save energy in the form of competition between schools, which we will held annually. we give the name of the program SIMARGI. which abbreviations for energy-saving education in Bahasa. SIMARGI consists of education to elementary school students about how to conserve. installation of energy monitoring in each school and compare the savings with other schools that can be accessed via the website. mounting display at each school that contains monitoring, educational videos and also advertising spot.

Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

First we are creating a competition that involve children with gamification methods. We put energy monitoring device in each school so every school can monitor and evaluate their energy use. We educate the children and teacher the basic of how to conserve, the good thing about conserving and bad thing out of it. Seconds, we collaborate with NGO that gather university student as a volunteer to educate the children. Not only will be good for the children, but also will affect themselves. We encourage all people that passing through the crowded space of the school to conserve energy by showing educational video in digital signage infrastructure. The last thing is, we reduce the energy cost so schools can use it for a better purpose.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

right now we are in the validation phase. we have gather partners to collaborate and have present our idea to the ministry of mineral resources and the local government. The collaboration with government still in detailed negotiation phase though they have a verbal commitment that they will support our program. We want to aim 50 schools as a participant in the first year, that is equal to 50 Million Rupiah of energy cost will be saved, and 10,000 students will be encouraged. In the next 5 years, we aim to achieve 30% schools in Indonesia which will be participated by 4.5 Million students and will reduce 250 Million Rupiah every year.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

Our main focus right now is to have a collaboration with the Government. By collaborating with the Government all access to the other city will be effective. Proven by Government will also makes funding from foundations and corporate social responsibility easier to get. To achieve the collaboration with the government, we use top down and bottom up strategy. Top down means we seek connection to the high level to support the program and bottom up means we spread the idea and use publicity to get the Government awareness and concern.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

As i mention before. SIMARGI will provide new infrastructure for media advertising. Our digital signage in the crowded space in school will be a media that attracts agency because right now this methods in only used in office building. We also gatherfunding from Government, Corporate Social Responsibility , and Foundations that have the same concern as we do.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

About 2 years ago, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has a quite similar program. They made an energy competition between schools but they gather the data manually without energy monitoring system and without advertising solutions. It is quite time consuming because the data gathering process is not efficient. Right now the program is not running again. We have approach the ministry to convince them that our solution can be the next step of their previous program, and collaborating with us is a great solution and right now is still in discussion process.

Founding Story

Adhmora is a company that focus on energy conservation sector. In the first run we develop an energy auditing service, but it doesn't come well because we are just a fresh graduate. Then we try to sell an energy monitoring system for buildings. We realize that the owners lack both of the knowledge and the concern about their energy sector. It is very rare to find a building that has a building management system on it. A five stars hotel has a better engineering team, but they are still log the data manually. We try to sell our system to them, but then they are asking "what for?". From that moment we realize that our people didn't got the essence of monitoring. That is the trigger to our idea

Currently we have 5 people in Adhmora, which are me as a President Director and we have business director, accountant, commissioner, and IT team. We start with a small team that really essential for the start. We collaborating with partners to solve the problem we can't do. We believe that by collaboration we can do projects in a better perspective.

Please provide examples of any previous entrepreneurial initiatives you have pioneered.

i was a head of profession division in my student union when i was in my university. At that time, people just spend their time to study or to hang out, the people was uninterested to achieve something more. In order to change the condition, my team create a program that encourage people to join a national university student competition. The competition subject had a broad theme, ranging from entrepeneurship to scientific research. Our program create a campaign about the competition. we disseminate the information about how prestigious the competition are. we create posters, youtube video, and direct approach to each person to join the competition. The result was amazing, the past participants from our student union before my time were just 3 teams, and after the campaign program it reach 13 teams. One thing that made me very happy is one of the team won the first prize of the competition.

Beyond your existing team, who else are you working with to achieve your objectives, eg partners, advisors, mentors?

our company collaborating with Greeneration Indonesia as a NGO that focus on green movement, Earth Hour as an educator partner, and Tjoret Studio as a design consultant
