About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

In Senegal, the spendings in medicine are at least 65% of the family spendings in health while 80 % of the population are not covered by any healthcare system In such a hard context, the consumption of medicine is not however optimized because medicine remainings accumulate in family's first-aid box until lapsing or are offered without any medical control.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

As answer to this situation, we propose a circular economy model in which medecine deposits in the community pharmacy are rewarded by points. The members of JokkoSanté have a personal account bound to their mobile phone number. The account is credited or debited according to the value of their medicine deposits or retrievals. JokkoSanté is then a community system of deposit, storage, sharing, and cross-financing of medicine which transform all family first-aid boxes into a single community pharmacy on the scale of the village, the department, the region and even of the country. This system is leaned to a Web / mobile application which allows secured transactions with end-to-end implication of healthcare professionals.

Founding Story

My husband and I have waited for a baby for long time... We faced many miscarriages.... The last time we tried, things went good and at 8th month , we were cleaning our room and freeing space for the newcomer. Then we noticed that we hae accumulated many medecines over years... and many ere already lapsed.... We though that their must be a solution to avoid this revenue loss...
