Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

With the rapid growth in the digital space, a group of individuals have been spotted. They are called the MILLENNIALS. This untapped savvy and educated group, aspire to live with happiness and purpose. They focus on community and connections and thrive by becoming a part of a movement.

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

What if there was a way to connect them with mentors, change makers, influencers, thought leaders and organisations in a community that helps them live fully, while instilling in them a culture of giving back to society?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

The Millennial generation is currently the largest generational group in history, and are poised to reshape the economy greatly through their unique experiences. But they are often faced with the challenges of finding validation, empowerment, inspiration and a learning curve that will answer their unending quests in their entrepreneurial and personal pursuits, and provide a practical approach to help them thrive, and ultimately, live fully.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

The aim of this project is to create a movement through our triangular approach of MEDIA, EDUCATION and COMMUNITY, that will solve the above problems, through the following approaches: - On the MEDIA side, create mobile-friendly audio and video content of success stories of influencers, change-makers, mentors and thought leaders. - On the EDUCATION side, build a growing menu of offerings for personal and entrepreneurial growth experience. - On the COMMUNITY side, allow for exchange of relevant information to all concerned parties, and build online tribes of shared values, quests and commitment to actively inspire change both personally and as a collective force to impact our world through 'CSR/give back' projects.

Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

The biggest impact the 'live fully project' will be through its ability to connect seekers to all of those relevant content. Through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and twitter, millennials can share content to others seeking empowerment, and invite them to be part of the community. For example: Vivian is a 27 years old Nigerian female aspiring entrepreneur with an idea to sell E-books online. A friend of hers shares audio content from the community to Facebook. Vivian enjoys it and decides to join the community. A week later, a changemaker shares his story of how he started to sell E-books, and the steps he took. Vivian's question is answered. A few months later, Vivian now makes $1000 monthly from selling E-books online.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

With the current rapid expansion in the digital space in all fields, jobs for educational technologists are growing rapidly - a trend which is expected to continue. Millennials can then join the community and build the entrepreneurial skills they need to become part of the educational technologists that companies are seeking.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

With over 1.5million android devices activated daily, there is a great chance of reaching mobile users through high targeted Facebook Ads. Plans are being made to deploy social media marketing strategies, using various social media platforms. When this is done, up to 4,000 people can be reached in as little as 1 month, thereby increasing the chances for millennial aspiring entrepreneurs to find relevant content that will help them build the skills they need, and answer all of their quests.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

- Through membership subscriptions - Advertising for big brands - Product offerings: These include personal or entrepreneurial video course sales, E-book sales, PDFs, and Google Ad sales.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

A few platforms I know, are addressing one or more of the problems this project aims to address. However, I do not know of a single platform that addresses all of the problems the 'live fully project' intends to address. This makes it different from them, as the problems here are an accumulation of my own personal challenges, as well as those of other millennials I have met since beginning the research for this project idea.
Team

Founding Story

From a very young age, I had an interest in technology. I knew I wanted to make money, do something really big, and to be able to inspire people to do the same. I also knew I wanted the freedom of creating my own work schedule, doing something I would enjoy, but was not really sure what that should be. Through my journey in search of it, I was often faced with the challenge of not being able to find many people with similar shared interests, especially among my gender. This resulted in many frustrating points in my journey, as I was often stuck. In September, I came across several people with similar interests, and started to share my process with them to help them get unstuck and live fully

Team

My team currently consists of 3 people including myself, with the right blend of skills that we currently need to move from idea to implementation stage. The team includes a software engineer, an entrepreneurial trend forecaster who doubles as the business manager and graphics designer for the project. With my skills in social media strategy and community management, my team and I have made the necessary projections, and plan to launch the project in a few weeks, improving on the community's features with time.

Leadership and the Unilever Awards
Please provide examples of any previous entrepreneurial initiatives you have pioneered.

I have worked alone, and also with a team of Social Media Strategists to develop mobile Applications for android, and manage social media communication channels for corporate brands in Wellness and Entertainment sectors, as well as for a Personal brands.

As a student, I was actively involved in leadership activities inside of campus. I was a School leader – Chaplain, and also departmental Financial Secretary for Physics Association – during which period my team and I discovered the absence of a proper channel for communication. To resolve that, we installed a departmental notice board, for information dissemination.

During my National Youth Service Year, I was an active volunteer in several community service outreaches and globally-related projects. Some of them are:

- MDGs Awareness Campaigns: I facilitated several trainings with the Millennium Development Goals (Now known as the SDGs or Global Goals) Lagos Chapter, to create awareness of the goals amongst youngsters in public secondary schools.
- The ‘Slum to School’ project by Otto Orondaam, which is aimed at providing educational support for children living in the slums of Lagos.
- ‘Inspire HER’ (a personal project aimed at motivating females to venture in; and excel in challenging businesses or career paths – particularly in Engineering and Technology).
- IKEDC Project: A Customer Service Outreach (CSO) project by Sahara Group for Ikeja Distribution Company (IKEDC), aimed at educating the Ikeja community on diabetes and hepatitis, as well as the importance of daily healthy practices.

My enthusiastic activities as a volunteer and in the web/digital industry, has served me well in nurturing my leadership and community management skills, as I have recently developed a strategy that will improve community engagement with young people by over 200 percent. This I plan to deploy into this project.

Beyond your existing team, who else are you working with to achieve your objectives, eg partners, advisors, mentors?

As of now, none yet.
