- Conversion of Waste to Energy would lead to a reduction of greenhousegases emission and also helps to reduce ground water pollution caused by landfill dumping - The Task force creation mandated to enforce all industrial companies to put up waste water treatment system would help to reduce the COD, BOD, TSS (Chemical oxygen demand, Biochemical oxygen demand, Total suspended solids) and Fecal coliform values of Surface water in the City - By making the Public aware of the accredited septic disposal companies and the services they offer would help to tackle Illegal companies that dispose septage in unsanitary ways (to the Environment)

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

- The Davao City council as we speak have passed a bill to look into the construction of a waste water treatment facility for the 1.5 million population and also the speedy conversion of energy from waste. The council have also agreed to have a review of some environmental legislations and the sustainability of the use of composting toilets. With the creation of a waste water treatment facility, we can be assured that the unsanitary disposal of septage waste would reduce tremendously, there by reducing the degradation caused to the Environment as we speak. - Bioeconomy which would lead to Job creation and reduce dependent on fossil fuel in the City - Sanitation and Hygiene issues would reduce - A

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

- Policies of the City regarding waste and waste water management definitely would be reviewed. - The Research created awareness and we believe that more work would be done towards efficient sanitation, proper waste and wastewater treatment

The University of Oulu gave its 2 students travelling and monthly grant of 2000 Euros each Maija Vilpanen used her personal funds and The Department of Science and Technology (DOST XI) Davao city made all financial support regarding the project (transportation, Free Lunch and Waste water sampling fee, e.t.c)

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

Davao City Environment and Natural Resources Office. What made our approach better was the fact that we worked with experienced colleagues of HELP DAVAO (Hydrology for Environment, Life and Policy) and the Department of Science and Technology. They had a wonderful BOTTOM - UP framework approach in dealing with researches and this made the research successful.
