About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

270 million Indians live below poverty line of $1.25 and majority are rural women.Rural populace lack sustainable livelihood due to a multitude of factors and on account of their inability to out migrate, rural women have no work to do and thus, they are forced to continue in the vicious cycle of poverty. It would serve as a boon to provide such women with skill training as well as market linked livelihood at their doorstep.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Program is to alleviate poverty of 85,000 underprivileged people mostly poor women by imparting skill training as decentralized way at the community level itself to make it convenient for women to avail the training with concept of One village One Product based on mostly locally availability of raw material. It does not require massive infrastructure establishment. Trainees are formed in clusters and SHG and post training sustainable market linkages for their product is provided at their door step through hybrid model. As holistic approach alongside, the lives of such beneficiaries will be touched through various social development imperatives viz.Literacy, bank linkages, building communication & managerial skill and other appropriate needs
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Shilpi (35yr),used to be very shy and afraid to go out to the market alone, doing nothing apart from just mostly staying at home and was very far away from even her basic needs. She completed our women skill and literacy program.Post training she opened her shop and run her shop and earn regular monthly income average of 20000 compare to she was just staying at home and earning nothing and completely depending on her husband. But now she is very proud, happy and independent women. Now she is able to easily fulfill her basic needs and support her children in continue study, proper food, etc. Now she employs 2 people and has plan to open 2 more shops. More than 80% of women are now having regular income those went though programme.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

294 underprivileged women have been trained through sewing skill training course and 62 are in training, out of trained women more than 80% of them are now having regular monthly income of 4000 Rs through self employment, order at house and compare to pre training it was 0-1200 Rs.Due to regular income their families are having better lives eg.Proper food, education to children and respect& dignity lives for these women, participation in decision making. As we work with holistic approach,7000 underprivileged people are getting benefited from the program including 212 dropped out poor slum children are getting free education and 136 enrolled in main stream education.137 women has finished their literacy course those who are not able to even read and write. Now can make signature, read, write, count, make calculation of their earnings.Socio-economic development of 85000 poorwomen

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

In 10 years, we plan to reach 85,000 underprivileged women and youth to provide them with skill and sustainable earnings at their doorsteps through decentralized model in the underdeveloped 1233 villages of 18 districts in 3 states of India through One Village One Product concept. And direct connect these rural artisans to global market. It would be hybrid model and would mostly led by these women. The modern technology would be brought in. By doing so there would be no poverty, hunger and migration to all these 1233 villages and would be a better education and live for everyone.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

As the initial phase we would charge a very minimum affordable fee from trainees. The grand sustainability would be achieved as the programme would be hybrid model and the surplus from project would used for programme smooth running and expend .

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

There are other organization too working towards skill development in rural India but we have not come across as such unique idea that we are planning to trained them poorest most poor at their doorstep in their community and provide them sustainable job work/self employment at their door step as concept of “One village One product”. This is also different due to as people themselves would be their own driving force and would be connected directly with global market. This is with holistic approach with integrated development for all.
