We facilitated the match with a mentor; another student that have won a several debating awards and is now running a debate club. After this collaboration, Walid won a debate competition organized by SEALS and participated in other competitions. In addition to that, he is now mentoring other students. The platform is mainly based on a self content creation where the mentors and mentees profiles are public which offers visilibility and expansion of their ideas.

Founding Story

In order to assess the results of the first SEALS event planned in Morocco, a debate competition between the student’s participants was organized around African youth issues. Mentors were provided by SEALS in order to coach the students that have never participated to a debate competition before. The mentees have delivered an outstanding performance during the debate competition. Two mentees were called to give speeches in national conferences and another has won a national debate competition. SEALS platform initiative was inspired by the mentoring results that have positively impacted mentees’ future. The initiative is now driven by the ability to expand this impact to more young people.

SEALS platform first mentoring programs, were launched prior to a debate competition in order to coach the students that have never participated in any kind of debate competitions. The coaching has lead to oustanding debating performances as described by the judges panel. All of the event attendants were surprised by the quality of the debaters' technical oratory. The self confidence built by the students debaters has lead to more intiative taking. The majority have participated to more debate competitions.
