UNI YURT is the exact analogue of a real yurt - shelter of nomads. UNI YURT construction kit gives everyone an opportunity to exercise yurt assembly and experience nomad culture. UNIversal, UNIting and UNIque house of the Universe should become a charm in every home!

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

What if people started thinking as nomads, be in harmony with nature and live in spherical houses without corners so that negative energy wouldn't accumulate inside?
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Humans are the only species that destroy themselves. Settled way of live brought private ownership and borders to protect material things. Addiction to materialistic values and strive for hoarding ruins human minds and hence the nature. Round shape living spaces vanished over time. Human moved towards square shaped homes. There are no angles nor corners neither squares in the nature whatsoever.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Yurt assembly exercise contributes to a Round Shape Thinking, i.e. thinking without "corners". All beings live in round shape homes except human. Holes, nests, etc. Nomads maintain this simple, but fundamental house-making technology. UNI YURT's slogan is "Think Nomad!" We propose to: - be in harmony with the Universe, - be eco-friendly, - create no borders, - be unattached to one place, - be free of material burdens, - don't settle - be mobile, - be tolerant to others, - cherish elders and ancestors.

Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Our company provides work to several families living in rural low-income communities. Felt coverings in our product are handmade by women and girls. They cut, sew and embroid felt parts of a yurt. Our designer is a young pregnant lady working distantly from home as she already has three wonderful kids. SMM manager also has four kids and works via Internet. We implement bonus system among our local distributors, we appreciate and encourage our employees and this stimulates spreading philosophy of our UNI YURT House of the UNIverse - warmth, harmony, unity in every home of the World.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

We've launched our product in the beginning of this year, but we are already recognizable. Recently UNI YURT became a member and a partner of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Kyrgyz Republic. We are just in the beginning of the long and interesting way!

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

We spread our idea and product trough representatives and distributors in Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Japan, France, Canada, Germany, China, Turkey, Amsterdam, etc. Many well-known people support our project. Ban Ki-Moon, John Grey, Brian Tracy, many Ambassadors already have their own UNI YURT Houses of the UNIverse.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

We are working under improvement of our product every day. Recently we've also launched unique souvenir line of felt-made goods. We rely on our resourses, but also seek for grants and investors.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

I may say, our project is a part of Global Shapers' goals. They say "go nomad!" We say "think nomad!"
Team

Founding Story

On of our co-founders had a dream about small yurt, that can be assembled as a real one. About a year his dream was just an idea. Then he found people with same views who helped to make this idea come true. The way from first prototype till the day of launching the product took about nine months - and it was like a birth of a child. Our child!
