About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Water is a basic need, that should be covered for everyone without the consumption of bottled water. Bottled water costs are high and generate a large amount of trash.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

We propose the use of water purifying machines installed along the cities or in rural areas, that allow people to reuse their squeeze or plastic bottles in order to get water, reducing the consume of bottled water and therefore the production and use of more plastic bottles.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Instead of spending a large amount of resources (chemicals, energy) in plastic recycling, people reuse endlessly their squeezes or plastic bottles to obtain free purified water along the cities.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

We hope that some day the consume of bottled water will be drastically reduced, if not eradicated. And also, we hope that some day every person on the planet will have access to free purified and potable water, ensuring their right to clean water.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

The pilot with start in Quito, and we hope to have a global initiative within 10 years.

Team

Founding Story

We try to innovate based on every issue we can identify daily that can be improved. In the case of wafee, the idea came to me one day, when I saw the need of water but did not want to buy another bottle just because I had forgotten my squeeze at home.

Team

Our team is composed by two electric engineers, two chemical engineers and a doctor. We are fully dedicated to investigate, develop and innovate solutions to improve people's quality of life and to build a better world for everyone. We have roles assigned, but do not have hierarchies, and as our projects advance we will keep it that way.
