INTRODUCTION
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to the Spiritual Changemakers Story Mosaic created and maintained by Ashoka.
The Spiritual Changemakers Story Mosaic (the “Story Mosaic”) is a digital tool that Ashoka created to gather and display the stories of changemakers from around the world who live and practice their spirituality as love and respect in action for the good of all. Participating in the Story Mosaic allows you to be eligible for awards and gain access to special opportunities designed by Ashoka and partners at the intersection of spirituality and changemaking.
DEFINITIONS
“You” refers to any individual that makes an eligible submission through the Service with the intention of participating in the Story Mosaic. Within these Terms, "You” may also be referred to as “Applicant” or “Participant”.
“Applicant Information” refers to Personal Data and Sensitive Personal Data contained in an Applicant’s Entry or in a prospective Applicant’s proposed entry through the Service.
“Entry” refers to any eligible submission made by an Applicant through the Service that contains relevant information, including Personal Data or Sensitive Personal Data, for the purposes of participating in the Story Mosaic.
“Personal Data” refers to any information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person, including but not limited to the following categories of information: name, address, email address, age, social media handle, photographs, and contact information; organization (including the organization’s name, website, phone number, and address), fields of work, languages, and location; username and password; the results of any questionnaires that you respond to; and your personal interests.
“Sensitive Personal Data” refers to Personal Data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetics, biometrics, health and disability information, immigration / refugee status and information regarding a person’s sex life or sexual orientation, and how they identify their gender.
“Service” refers to the Story Mosaic platform hosted by Wazoku, and affiliated websites or services that are used and operated for the purpose of executing or administering the Program.
“Spiritual Changemakers Awards” refers to the prizes granted by Ashoka and the Soularize Co-hosts to notable Spiritual Changemakers participating in the Story Mosaic.
“Spiritual Changemakers Initiative” is Ashoka’s Program focused on engaging faith-inspired changemakers, in order to build a spiritually diverse network to address the most pressing issues of our time, and amplify the voices, stories, and insights from Spiritual Changemakers.
“Soularize” refers to the Soularize event, a three-day, in-person gathering for Spiritual Changemakers who are influencing positive change at scale.
“Soularize Co-hosts” refers to the organizations responsible for co-hosting the Soularize gathering – Ashoka, Soularize, Presencing Institute and CoCreative.
“Soularize Selection Process” refers to the opportunity of being selected for an award in the Soularize gathering by submitting your story to be assessed by the Spiritual Changemakers Panel.
“Spiritual Changemakers Panel” refers to the individuals selected, in the sole discretion of Ashoka and the Soularize Co-hosts, to judge the Entries, which may include Soularize Co-hosts’ employees or members of their larger networks or others who are not employed by or otherwise affiliated with the Soularize Co-hosts.
DATA PROTECTION
The information You submit through the Story Mosaic will be held, used, and disclosed to others. When You submit your story to the Service, You are directing and consenting to it being submitted to Ashoka (the administrator of the Program) and Wazoku (the host of the Service), for each of their use pursuant to their own privacy policy. Once You submit your Application, You will be asked to indicate whether You would like to receive Ashoka communications (including other Spiritual Changemaker opportunities, events, future year’s programs or related alumni gatherings) and/or participate in research and surveys related to the Spiritual Changemakers Initiative. You may unsubscribe from Ashoka communications at any time through the Unsubscribe form (https://www.ashoka.org/en-us/unsubscribe).
Please take note that in order to participate in the Story Mosaic You must provide the following categories of information, which contain Sensitive Personal Data, and will be disclosed to other participants once You accept these Terms:

Your username (which may be your full name if You elected to use it to create your username);

Profile photo;

Personal and professional background;

Religious or philosophical beliefs;

City and state;
-
Project title;
-
Description of the project;
-
Sector, theme or focus of the project;

Stage of the project;
-
Presentation video (if you submit any).
In your Application, You may choose to take part or not in the Soularize Selection Process to try to earn a spot to participate in the Soularize gathering. If You choose to participate in the Soularize Selection Process, You may also be requested to provide further private details on your project or story, as well as bank account information, in case You are one of the selected participants. In case You are chosen to participate in Soularize, You will also be required to share information from your Entry with the other Soularize Co-hosts in order to be able to join the event. None of the information submitted through the Story Mosaic will ever be disclosed by Ashoka without your consent, unless it is required to comply with the law.
If You choose not to participate in the Soularize Selection Process, You may still enjoy the Story Mosaic. In this case, if your Entry meets the eligibility criteria it will only be considered for the other two awards – having a chance to join the Spiritual Changemaker Community and feature in publications.
You are responsible for the accuracy of all the information You provide in the Story Mosaic and Ashoka is not liable for any errors made by You in this regard. Applicant Information will be held and processed by Ashoka during the duration of the Program and may be retained for a period of up to 3 years or as required under applicable laws. Applicants can, at any time, request access to, modification of, or deletion of any of their Applicant Information, to the extent permissible under applicable data protection laws, by contacting Ashoka via email at privacy@ashoka.org.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS AND AGREEMENTS
Participants must be at least 18 years old to submit their stories to the Story Mosaic. An Applicant is not allowed to submit more than one application. Written Entries must be submitted in English, and Entries in video may be submitted in any language and uploaded on YouTube. Participants that choose to apply with video are entirely responsible for the privacy management of the material on YouTube, and Ashoka is not liable for any technical issues related to such platform.
By submitting an Entry, the Applicant agrees to be bound by these Terms and by the decisions of Ashoka, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to the Story Mosaic and the Soularize Selection Process. Prizes are awarded in the sole discretion of Ashoka and without warranty of any kind from Ashoka, the Soularize Co-hosts or any of its affiliated companies, express or implied, without limitation, except where this would be contrary to applicable law or regulation.
To the extent permitted by law, each Applicant agrees to hold Ashoka, its subsidiaries, parents, affiliates, agents, directors, officers, employees, representatives and assigns harmless from any injury, damage, expense, or loss caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the Spiritual Changemakers Initiative or use or acceptance of any prize awarded, except to the extent that any death or personal injury is caused by the negligence of a Soularize Co-host.
An Applicant may be prohibited from participating in the Story Mosaic or the Soularize Selection Process if Ashoka reasonably believes that the Applicant has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the initiatives, including by cheating, deception or other unfair practices or annoys, abuses, threatens or harasses any other Applicants, Soularize Co-hosts, or their employees, agents or associated parties.
SPIRITUAL CHANGEMAKERS OPPORTUNITIES
Every Story Mosaic Participant that meets the eligibility criteria will automatically be considered a candidate to benefit from at least two of the Spiritual Changemakers Opportunities as described below:

Join the Spiritual Changemakers Community – Ashoka's online program that gathers spiritually-diverse changemakers, selected according with their changemaker journey, to grow, learn, collaborate and increase their impact around the most pressing issues of our time.

Have their story featured in relevant social impact publications, such as on Ashoka’s website, or in Ashoka’s publications, via social media, as well as being invited to interviews with journalists and other similar initiatives.
Additionally, may choose to apply for the Soularize Award and be part of the Soularize Selection Process. Each of the winners of the Soularize Selection Process will be invited to attend Soularize on May 23-25 in Orange, California (USA), and receive a waiver of the event fee. Awardees may also be eligible to receive funds to attend the gathering.
All Soularize Selection Process Participants with eligible Entries submitted by February 28, 2023 will automatically be considered for the Early Bird prize, increasing their chances of being selected to participate in Soularize, since 30% of the total Story Mosaic awardees for the Soularize gathering will be selected from the Early Bird submissions.
In the event that circumstances necessitate canceling the in-person event, referred to above as Soularize (as determined in the sole discretion of the Soularize Co-hosts), the event might be postponed or a virtual event will be held and no trip support will be provided to the winners.
The winner’s prizes will then depend on its various merits and will be determined at the sole discretion of the Spiritual Changemakers Panel. Entries submitted through the Story Mosaic will be evaluated by the Spiritual Changemakers Panel considering five main criteria:

The degree to which your story includes the determined “Four things to ensure”.

The degree to which your initiative embodies the idea of love and respect for everyone;

The impact sought and the degree to which your initiative shows promise to empower and activate others;

Evidence of clear commitment to the stated goal and ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve that goal;
-
Your desire to connect and deepen your changemaking and spiritual life.
Ashoka expressly reserves the right to make any changes to the Awards details described above in its sole and absolute discretion.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Applicants who submit an Entry that contains the Applicant’s intellectual property retain their individual rights to their work and any derivative works.
By submitting an Entry, You certify and warrant that your Entry is original and that You are the sole and exclusive owner and right holder of the submitted Entry and that You have the right to submit the Entry for the Story Mosaic. Further, You agree not to submit any Entry that (1) infringes any third-party proprietary, intellectual property, industrial property, personal rights or other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligation; or (2) otherwise violates applicable law in any jurisdiction in the world.
By submitting copyrighted material, You certify that You have obtained the necessary permissions from the copyright owner in writing. You assume responsibility for any associated penalties and costs incurred as a result of a copyright violation related to this material.
Nothing in these Terms shall be considered or is intended to confer on or transfer to a party any ownership right or interest in any intellectual property (such as trademark, design, symbol, etc.) of another party.
COMMUNICATIONS RIGHTS
If Ashoka wishes to publish your story in any way, Ashoka will request your explicit consent to share your Entry information (including without limitation your name, likeness, and the name and details of your project) with journalists, via social media, on Ashoka’s website, or in Ashoka’s publications.
JURISDICTION
These Terms are subject to change at any time in the sole discretion of Ashoka; any change will be published on https://faith.solutions.changemakers.com/challenge/feb38991c0d54a5eb1a2099f061babf5?entities=idea&sort=-relevancy&page=1&pageSize=15&include_descendants&parentType=challenge&parentId=feb38991c0d54a5eb1a2099f061babf5&communityId=1bc176be2f45488f9d0ab0c4c771c27f. The terms and administration of the Program will be governed by the laws of United States and the relevant court of Virginia shall have jurisdiction.
NO RECOURSE TO JUDICIAL OR OTHER PROCEDURES: To the extent permitted by law, the rights to litigate, to seek injunctive relief or to make any other recourse to judicial or any other procedure in regard to the judgment of the Awards Jury are hereby excluded, and each Applicant expressly waives any and all such rights.
