About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

On behalf of the children of this world and the future generations to come, ask our leaders to take baby steps towards peace and progressively increase the commitment over the years. If we all follow this then we can reach our goal by the year 2040. The simple yet powerful action plan to achieve this goal to follow a simple pledge – a commitment to let peace have a chance to break out and enable the modern world to reap the peace dividend. Money spent on bombs and bullets can be redirected towards poverty and peace. The money saved by the days of peace and no conflict can be used by each country’s economy to solve problems such as illiteracy, global warming, cancer and AIDS research and other pressing issues.

Founding Story

a) A picture of a child with a vulture sitting next to him. The picture was taken in 1994 by world renowned photographer Kevin Carter. It depicts an image of a tiny Sudanese child, whose limbs are as frail as twigs and ribs jutting out like a splinter, trying to crawl his way through the barren ground to an apparent UN food camp about a kilometer away. A few feet behind the starved child is a vulture calmly waiting for its meal to die. The saddest thing is that this is only one child. Living like this are another 1 billion people. It is one of the primary reasons for the project World Peace 2040. b) My son’s words hit the home when after the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center, he expressed a desire to see the other tall building in the world before the terrorists destroy them. My immediate reaction was despair and fear; these are not the emotions that a child should be growing up with. My intention is to bring the world closer to peace.

What is your projected impact over the next 1 to 3 years?

We believe that attaining world peace has always been an objective that has never had a time frame and through this initiative, we are introducing the discipline of time to that noble cause. People act when they have a deadline to meet and that is what we are banking on.
Hence in 2014 we hope that the first day of each month will be World Peace Days (e.g. Jan 1, Feb 1, March 1,… Dec 1) would be World Peace Days or twelve days in 2014.

In the year 2015 the 1st and 2nd day of each month will be World Peace Days. That is Jan1 & 2, Feb 1 & 2, March 1 &2,…Dec 1 & 2 will be World Peace Days. That is 24 Peace Days in 2015

So after three years we expect 48 days of peace.

What barriers might hinder the success of your project? How do you plan to overcome them?

Terrorism. We have letters of support from the President of China, the President of Chili, the Prime Minister of Australia. We seek support from other leaders also.

• Website created to allow visitors from every country in the world to sign up as supporters.
• Emails and other contacts continuing with leaders and governments of the world.
• To present the proposal to the United Nations

Expand on your answer, explaining the long-term funding and support plan.

World is changing fast but still there is so much division and separation about cast, religion and race. However today youth is enthusiastic, broad minded, better thinker and liberal. Our target is to bring out the leader in them and prepare them to teach the lesson to the world about Peace and Unity. Internet is the easiest and widely spread medium through which we can reach to the people around the world. We will use the internet for social interaction, activities, and organizing the events. We will use social websites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace to attract and target the youth. Our goal is to give the better and peaceful world to the next generation. We want next generation to ask each other “How are you?” not “Who are you?”

Tell us about your partnerships across your company and externally that are key to your project's success.
